Cavanagh was an all time great. An absolute legend. That Tyrone team were utterly immense.

I always felt that Cavanagh was the most complete footballer of his era,

I think he was the best as well as with his attributes, he could influence any kind of game. He had no real reliance on any teammate and no weakness in his game.

This Tyrone team would beat the current Dublin team.
Lot of good teams in this era, took a fine Cork team till 10’ to bag their All Ireland…team that had 9 or 10 very very good players.
Tyrone had Kerry on the hook and Kerry seemed to have Cork.
