Laochra Gael - Back, and to the left hand on top

Pete McGrath on now.

Nice guy but boring enough aul show. Priestly air to Pete devoted his life to football.

I wouldn’t like to meet Robbie O Malley down a dark alley

A very sound man

Or go for a pint with him

I’d prefer him to a lot others on that team

Great show. I never heard about that Baltinglass incident before.

Jesus he was doing some squaring up to the camera, I thought he was going to throw a nut at it

Those Dublin meath games were great …kicked the bollox out of each other on field and no more about it …

Barrsy and Flynn are great mates now - I’m surprised they didn’t ask him on for it

and a super corner back, there wasnt many better in that era or after

It was worrying to hear Flynn say that there’s a lot of lost and isolated ex gaa players …

When you exit the bubble, you realise the amount you’ve given up, and how many of your old friends have moved on with their lives. Some are taken care of, but others have a hard road ahead. Fay had a fierce tough time of it iirc.

I heard recently Ian Robertsons father passed away. Robertson was a fella who despite that pick up, I always admired. Used everything he got and made an incredible success of himself. A lesson for many GAA players.

That’s a fair point about missing so much of your youth with family and friends etc. … I would have thought the fact that you had to work in between games would have helped regarding the bubble …I’d say the guys in last 5 years onwards could really struggle as it’s such a commitment and jobs are sacrificed more now …
Robertson meant to good bloke alright but I never saw a man change so much when he stepped on field …he was always getting involved .

Shan Cavanagh one on tonight.

Brolly must’ve been trolling with the never play senior bit with 01 minors

That 03’ Tyrone team is a head to head nightmare for any team in history

Cavanagh certainly comes across as a smarmy tosspot off the pitch but he has to be up there in the top 5 most influential footballers in the past 30 years.

The 2005 team were better with O’Neill at his pomp and Canavan though 2 years older, fitter for the business end.

He must be right up there.

All the real greats are great when they are young and he certainly falls into that category.
