What was the original point that Rambler and Nembo are arguing over
Stop changing the goalposts.
You were talking about how Kerry were able to comfortably beat inferior opposition and Tyrone should have been comfortably been able to beat those teams. What Iâve pointed out flies in the face of that.
There were plenty of teams around who would be able to catch you on the hop if you werenât at your game and it was much more difficult for teams from Ulster to maintain a high level of performance from May to September so of course they were more liable to being caught out as it happened with Tyrone. Tyrone also suffered the death of one of their best players at this time, the retirement of the gameâs greatest ever player, retirement of another important player in Ger Cavlan, injuries to key players like McGuigan, McGinley and OâNeill who missed seasons of action.
Tyrone and Armagh were not a million miles better than Down, Derry, Fermanagh, Monaghan or Donegal. The performances of these teams testifies to that, the talent was always there with these counties, they all had some excellent performers and unless Tyrone and Armagh were at their best in these games they would not win - they same applies to Kerry when they played them but they did not have to do with the regularity Tyrone and Armagh had to or in the early course of the season.
Tyrone lost to fucking meath and laois as well.
Youâve now resorted to death, injuries and retirements. Youâve been beaten up a stick Nimby and then you role out the auld gaa cliche of there is talent in every county
How did that work out for them in the end?
Beaten by a shite Cork team
Who won those games?
They must of been very tired the poor whores.
And they beat Kerry the three times in that period.
When Tyrone were re-energised, they were the best team around but itâs almost impossible to sustain that level coming from Ulster every year - because the quality of teams around you have to be ready to go from May at full tilt, thatâs just the reality of it.
Kerry wonât open their campaign this summer until mid June against a side who will probably have battled to stay in Div 3. They will win that game and guarantee their involvement until late July at the very least.
Tyrone will open their campaign with a tough game against Derry where they will need to be at their best to win, they will then take on Armagh where they will need a similar performance and thatâs their path to the last 12.
The matter is about Kerry comfortably beating inferior teams, they did not comfortably beat them - try and stay on point.
Have Tyrone fitness issues, is that your angle here?
No.
The point here is the imbalance of the draw which favours certain teams - Cork and Kerry in particular.
They had management issues.
Your point is utterly childish. Tyroneâs main issue in the past 7 years is their negativity. All bullshit & wumming aside, if they played a Kerry style of football they would beat teams in Ulster. Their game plan of stopping their opponents being positive only levels the playing field against weaker opposition.
Mickey Harte has essentially cut the footballing life out of a decent team.
Moaning about Munster & its faults only highlights Tyroneâs woeful faults.
Surely it favours Clare, Waterford, Tipp and Linerick as well so?
Cork and Kerry would often play a 1/4 final as well, much like most ulster teams. So your point, while occassionally arguable with say Tyrone and Donegal in recent years, is still fairly mute.
Yes Tyrone were brilliant against good sides but terrible against vastly inferior sides. Donegal kept it going for almost 4 years in a row.
Kerry killed anything inferior than them while Tyrone fool around due the system they deployed at the time. They werenât versatile enough. The big worry for the best northern sides is that kerry have copped on to their tricks and have adopted their system to beat them. Ten years ago kerry would have lost to the donegal side they faced in 2014 and the Tyrone side they faced in August.
Exactly Harry. Any serious all Ireland contender will wipe the floor with the likes of Derry. The dubs would put 20 points on them.
A proper nickname.
Tyroneâs main problem in the last 7 years has been the break up of their greatest ever team and arguably the greatest every county team. There has been a phase of transition, only Cavanagh remains from 03, Joe Mahon from 05 and Justy, Colm Cav and McCarron from 08. I think Tyrone reaffirmed themselves as a force again last season and I expect them to build on it.
Tyrone play good football, I enjoy it and I like watching us. Thank you Mickey Harte for all you have done and I look forward to the Tyrone 2.0 you are tightening the bolts on currently.
The draw is imbalanced and Iâm not just moaning about it on account of Tyrone. Donegal are the Ulster team who have suffered the most at its hands over the past 5 seasons - the route they have had to take over the past 5 years has been incredibly grueling but they got there in spite of it.
Who did Kerry kill?
