The Meehans will be good I suspect. Richieās could be hilarious. Actually a very decent line up all told.
The Meehans should be interesting.
I saw one on Declan Browne recently which I hadnāt seen before.
Fuck me but he was some player. Mick Oā was speaking of how he tried to get him to transfer to Kildare on the grounds that he would never win an All Ireland with Tipp.
Ehhhhhhhā¦
Micko sat at Browneās table twice, once with Kildare and once with Laois. At the time, both were āinterestingā propositions, and its not like Kildare were all that far away (but thankfully far enough away). He was a magician though, a great bit of stuff.
It was a bit sad to see Browne celebrating intensely when he won the Tommy Murphy Cup in Croke Park.
The same player who was hitting 1-05 off Seamus Moynihan in the years previously.
Still though the GAA is about the local club and county and Browne said as much.
That hurler who transferred from Cavan to Kildare should hang his head in shame.
Never had to do it against top class opposition in a serious game.
Tipp were close to winning Munster finals a few times in his career
When?
2002 they drew with Cork, some time in the late 90ās as well I think
On checking up there, they drew with Cork in 2002 before getting filleted in the replay.
They also lost to Kerry by 4 points in 97. Probably close in the same manner as Antrim nearly winning an Ulster title in 2009, which wasnāt really that close.
Arguably the most under appreciated footballer of all time.
Why is that sad.
Bizarre statement. Sad to see a guy celebrating a win?
The replay is irrelevant to how close they were to winning the first day. Iirc in the first game a Tipp player had the goal at his mercy with time just up and opted to handpass over the bar for the draw instead of going for goal. The Laochra Gael on him is good viewing but of course you wonāt watch it as watching it might change your opinion which you wonāt let happen
Or the most overrated. There is no real substance to him.
You never saw him play you weirdo
I would watch it but he is ridiculously overrated in the grand scheme, thereās not really much substance to him.
He never played at a high level.
There is no real substance to you either but people tollerate you.
I doubt you ever saw him play.
Its hilarious when you get caught out on 2002 you just dismiss out of hand a draw in a final as being ānowhere near itā
Dumb rating.
Are you not allowed to be a good footballer if you are not from a good footballing county?
The Munster Football Championship is shit, pal. In the past 80 years only Clare have won it (once) outside Cork and Kerry.
There is no case for saying Browne was a better footballer than Paddy Bradley for instance. None.
