Laochra Gael - Back, and to the left hand on top

I would say part of the problem was the quality of the lads around him. I

That’s a very harsh assessment. He was pretty much the only quality forward in a team that was mainly quite weak for most of his career.

Great minds.

The lads from the big clubs all think the same way.

He contracted MS at the age of 24 mate what did you want him to do from there??, he was the outstanding player on what was a relatively poor Limerick side at the time and single handedly dragged them to an AI final in 07.

That’s a fair point of course, he would have been singled out as well, but there’s an exaggeration of his senior career here, you couldn’t say he kicked on from his underage career, Jesus he was unbelievable as a 16 year old,

He didn’t single handedly do anything of the sort

You are talking utter shit as per.

Not far off it.

Ah he was very good in 2007 but I wouldn’t say he single-handedly did anything. Long time since I’ve watched any of those matches but I would have said Ollie Moran was our best forward overall that year.

Ollie was outstanding in the Tipp trilogy and the AI final, Shaugs was unmarkable against Clare in the QF and Waterford especially in the semi to get us to the decider. Kilkenny swarmed him the entire game they weren’t letting him have any influence that day( main reason why Ollie had a great final was the extra space he got from the attention Shaugs was drawing from the KK HB line dropping back to help snuff him out)

Why, because I don’t accept that he ‘single handedly’ dragged Limerick to the final in 07,

That’s quite disrespectful to the likes of Hickey, Mark Foley, Damien Reale and Ollie Moran, even Donie Ryan ffs. You’ve decided he was the best thing since the baby Jesus fair enough. I saw him play a couple of times as a young lad and I felt he’d be a superstar, even on a poor team.

He wasn’t unbelievable that year . He was decent enough in Munster . Was very good v Tipp the third day . Was outstanding v an awful Clare team and brilliant v Waterford . Had a decent enough final too . Did well all year from frees .

And the magic of Donie Ryan.
