Hard to argue with any of that. Its a good synopsis. I think Ryan has enough self awareness to know that is not universally liked. Maybe some of it is the fact that it was always going to follow in the footsteps of Gay Byrne. Pat Kenny was more of an aloof, headmaster stop-gap that was serviceable but did it in a slighly robotic way. He was always going to go the more political serious business route as is his want. Iām not sure I recall many memorable interviews or guests down through those years. But Ryan just trys too hard to ingratiate himself with the viewers. He doesnt do social media I believe, which is undoubtedly a good thing for him, but its like he is making up for the other 364 days of the year when people are less than complimentary towards him. The toy show has become a crusade on his part. Iām not sure how I feel when he does the grief and sombre segments each week on his show. I guess its why Iāve long since tuned out. It should, for a Friday night, be easy viewing but it makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Ironically it seems to be the space where Ryan is most comfortable. He has a few set plays a bit like Piers Morgan where it all seems fairly disingenuous.

Ryan is generally well liked, heās a decent skin, social media and forums like this will always see the worst
Was there a survey done? Heās plain useless at what he does , after that i dont know the manā¦ But as a presenter heās woeful.

Do you watch the late late or listen to his radio show? How would a fella know if he was good or bad otherwise?
Anytime Iv heard him on the radio thought he was OK. Late late is dire
Iāve seen him plenty over the years yes. Everyone has. An d heās hopeless. His radio show is a bit of fluff from what i recall but he canāt do television that much is clear.
