RTÉ made a balls of pivoting Grainne Seoige to light entertainment a decade and a half ago.

The two from Dancing with the RTÉ Stars would be short odds I’d say.

D’Arcy won’t be getting it. His Saturday night show wasn’t very popular.

Brendan O’Connor would have a bigger shout. Did reasonably well with his Saturday night show and has been doing the #Marian slot for the last three years. He’s versatile, can do both the light entertainment and serious stuff and has a touch of the Tommy Tiernan about him in the way he’ll let his guests speak.
