Ryan was in magnificent form when I encountered him in Dublin Zoo last Saturday morning. A very pleasant man, loads of time for young and old despite being there with a group of his own.

Great story from Finbar about how his folks met. She was playing the banjo at the puck fair when his auld fella was cycling past on his bike, “The bike stopped”. The auld fella walked her home after the puck fair and they were married “four or five days later”. Fair operator.
