Leinster Hurling Championship 2025

A late maturer is it. Had a bad injury after winning a Leinster under 21 in 2016 that knocked him out for a year. He could light it up in an odd club game, anonymous the next, a red card the next.

He has brought a level of consistency to his game the last 3/4 years. Would generally pick up 3/4 scores consistently a game now. Micheal Donohoe called him into the panel two years ago but he dropped off it when his sister died suddenly. I’m fairly sure his appearance last week vs Offaly was his championship debut. Hopefully he gets more game time.

These guys are all Dubs and in it for the right reason. They ain’t mercenaries*from Galway who wouldnt go to a club game in Dublin as they were managing club teams in Galway at the same time.

*Mattie Kenny wasn’t a mercenary but his backroom team were.

Where are ya staying? I’m from the town.

I’ve had a cursory look at the socials of 4 or 5 pubs in Wexford town (cc @Halftime) & there’s no mention of the match being shown. Now I’m out of the loop to a large degree & maybe every other pub in Wexford will have the GAA+ sub but I don’t think the split season championship & broadcast situation has captured the imagination in Wexford. I’d need to defer to you @Pirlo to recommend somewhere.

“I wouldn’t watch them if they were playing in my back yard” is a phrase people used to apply to a team they don’t like. It’s a real shame to see @Bandage say the same about his once beloved Wexford.

If staying down the south end of the town, I’ve no doubt Trevor Doocey would have it in The Pike, or even Andy Doyle would have it in Bugler Doyles, or Thomas Kelly in Kelly’s on the corner. Out of them three options, The Pike is a strong GAA pub, 100% will have it. Go up the road, Liam would have it in Sinnott’s (or @Bandage would know it as ‘The Gaelic Bar’). They’re bankers if you’re staying in some place like Talbot Hotel/Suites.
Down the north end of the town, you have the option of Jem Ryan’s T. Morris, or failing that, The Crown Bar. Jim McGee’s is another option, 5 mins up the hill from Monck Street (if you’re staying in The Crown).

Let me know sure where you’re staying, and I can work with that. Whitford and Newtown Park are outside the town of course.

They’re practically playing in my backyard tomorrow & I’m not going. However, those approaching Parnell Park from the dart station/Killester village side will see the new apartment block is finally finished. Disappointingly, we patiently awaited what type of retail/commercial/restaurant unit would go in on the ground floor - I had dreams of a little independent cafe & bakery or even somewhere you’d get a wonderful brunch - but it’s a Tesco Express.

How’s that walk from Killester dart station to Parnell Park? Only time I’ve ever been up here is falling gee-eyed off a bus. This time I’m gonna take in the sights of the city with the missus and her 10 year old niece beforehand.

God be with the days when you were criss-crossing the city to see the Wexford U21’s in action on balmy summer evenings.

We used to be a proper Association.

It’s only around 7 minutes away. Get off at Killester Central. You can take a left when exiting the dart station & another left to head down to Collins Avenue East. Turn right at the junction (even though The Orange Goat will be visible to your left) & walk along Collins Avenue East past the aforementioned Tesco Express to Donnycarney.

On the ball :+1:t2:

That was the dig mate.

You can also take a right out of the dart station followed by an immediate further right & that takes you to downtown Killester. You’ll see an Insomnia, The Beachcomber pub, Supervalu etc & can loop
around directly past The Orange Goat onto Collins Avenue East that way. I actually do a Killester walking tour on Saturday mornings so feel free to tag along. It’s inspired by the Irish football walking tours run by Gary Cooke & Aodhán O’Riordáin.

 I’ve done the association football tour with Aodhan and Gary. Gary is a mentalcase, Aodhan is grand.

When they decided to put “the club player” ahead of me then that was the end of the association in truth. It’s limping along aimlessly now in this split season zombie zone.

You’re in the unique position whereby the nel and CWP are both in your back yard.

I met your Ma and sister and niece yesterday. FYI.

I should have said, you received positive feedback. Somewhat twee, maybe even patronising, but positive nonetheless:

“Me mam and [redacted] met [redacted] today in ufucoffee. He came over to us. He’s an awful nice fella, those country chaps usually are! I didn’t know whether to call him [redacted nickname] or [redacted name] so didn’t say either!”
