McInerney isnāt as slow as in being indicated here .
They said hello in the final too that year .
Ooooooft
I was thinking that myself too. Oā Hanlon for Wexford is definitely slower. More likely to get away it in the half back line than full back line anyway. Oā Hanlon got exposed quiet a bit at full back but hasnāt been an issue since he moved out the field.
He was poor today. Very lucky boy that goal was disallowed. Heās poor more often than not. would they try him midfield instead of Coen? Might be better suited further out.
McInerney saw off Lee Chin, Patrick Maher and Austin Gleeson in Croke Park last summer. Big game player.
He wonāt win a 100 Metres gold at the olympics but not many would roast him for pace .
He is and prone to lashing out .
Yeah he can sweep onto a loose ball well but then was coen ever a tight enough marker? More of a sweeper in his vaccum cleaning days but what then about harte. Coens shot selection and execution was well below required today, still well able to mix it there, id be reluctant to unbalance that relationship
You tipped limerick to win the all Ireland last week Jeff.
Thatās Limerick fucked so.
That was until I saw Galway today swatting aside resurgent Kilkenny in 3rd gear. Galway to beat Limerick in the final and chalk up 3 from 3 final wins to go with 1923 and 1980. Gearoid McInerney to be MOTM.
Wexford are the only team who have definitely qualified for the knock out stages of the championship so far
Aidan Nolan, Patrick Maher and Austin Gleeson.
Galway just held kk to two points from play, and lads suggesting they change their defence.
Yes but Kilkenny are shite and Limerick are going to win the AI. Keep up.
Forgot that. Apologies.
Wexford v Galway next week is the game of the championship. I expect both counties will dominate hurling for the next 20 years, thereās not much happening in Munster and KK are on a downward spiral. Should be a cracker altogether
Hereās where we see the swings and roundabouts of the schedule kicking in for Wexford.
Offaly were fucked after playing Galway and Kilkenny back to back, and didnāt have the conditioning or depth to deal with 3 tough games in succession. Ergo, we trampled all over them. Handy enough to be able to take off likes of Chin and Rory OāConnor after 50 minutes or so.
But this Galway and Kilkenny double header is tricky. Kilkenny are on their bye week while we play Galway, and we saw what happened when there was a similar event in the league. Kilkenny swept us aside after having a 2-week break between quarter and semi-final, whereas we were flat and stuck to the ground after a tough game against Galway the week before.
Weāre guaranteed third already and have two shots at the Leinster Final now. We should play our reserves against the Galway machine next week. No point getting our main men fatigued, injured and demoralised and practically hand Kilkenny the final spot without playing them, as we have no hope of beating Galway at this stage of the season anyway. We should save ourselves for Kilkenny and get to the final that way.
Who suggested they change their defense?
