Wtf indeed.

Dublin 2-24 Offaly 0-13. FT.

My auld lad on the phone to my uncle here and theyā€™re loving James Skehillā€™s first half puck outs from yesterday. ā€œPlay the game in the opposition 21. Get it as far away from your goal as possible.ā€

Next weekā€™s Galway v Dublin game is a championship first with absolutely nothing to play for in it. Galway are guaranteed to top the group, Dublin guaranteed to come 4th. Will be interesting to see how many bother going along to it. Great chance for a bit of fundraising, top 15 bidders from both counties get to start the game and live the dream of playing intercounty hurling.

He has a point .

Should play the galway minors. Seriously they are going in still untested with this new format.

Minors canā€™t play senior intercounty so itā€™s not even any use for that purpose.

Oh yeah i forgot that. Call the game off so.

Play the over 40ā€™s or even the 1987-88 team.

What about Wexford at Nowlan Park next Saturday night? I hadnā€™t planned on going as I thought we would already be through to the Leinster Final, but I might need to alter plans now.

We should probably change things up a bit. David Dunneā€™s form deteriorated during the league before his injury, but he seems to be 8th or 9th choice forward these days. Iā€™d start him to add some speed and impetus to the attack.

Firman is probably worth a start somewhere I
in defence too, but weā€™re lacking defensive options overall. Hopefully Reck ran off that recurring ankle problem.

Liam Og McGovern has naturally looked a bit rusty so possibly best to keep him as an impact sub option. Cathal Dunbar didnā€™t get a touch in his 10 minutes against Dublin and hasnā€™t seen any game time in the next two games.

Kilkenny have a few big mullocking forward types that have given us trouble in the past and we saw how Galway exposed our aerial weakness in defence. Iā€™d be tempted to try something a bit leftfield like using Jack Oā€™Connor as a half back, like his U21 days.

Itā€™s a simple game.

Some whining about Offaly .

Not sure Iā€™ll bother. A handy pre quarter final followed by a handy quarter final against Munster mediocrity is what we need.

Another Leinster Final hammering by Galway wouldnā€™t be ideal.

Theyā€™re reaping what they sowed.

Sadly so too are Laois.

Fuck em

Offaly knew the score at the start of the year. Albeit Offaly should have been allowed a play off against the bottom team in Munster for another hammering before relegation.

The whining on their behalf from all quarters is in marked contrast to the silence when Laois, Westmeath and Carlow were bucked out of the Leinster Championship.

At least ye had Cheddar and Critchley making an effort.
Offaly have shown they are out of their depth. I predict that all their fuss and bluster will lead to some sort of rule change for next year which will make it harder for them to get promoted again.

Offaly-West Meath and Carlow-Laois. Is what should be done at senior for 5 years. Let them rebuild.
