You were right with one of your guesses𤣠game on in Carlow.
It was a free
It was given anyway. Anyone know where youâd see the attendances for the Hurling at the weekend? Quick search isnât giving me much. Or are they not released as much these days?
There was 20 odd thousand at Cork and Clare and they said on the telly that there were 12 thousand in Salthill.
Yesterdayâs paper had 20,834 in Thurles, 14,034 in Salthill, 1800 at the Dubs game and 1000 in Laois.
Thanks lads.
Thats how I knew it was a free.
A bad turn out for what would have been a grand night to be up in Galway for afterwards if nothing else
Iâd say the traffic puts a lot off. Shift that east of the bridge and youâd put 6000 on the gate I reckon.
Can you walk out to Salthill from the city?
You can, but itâs a long hike, Iâd say well over an hour.
Itâs also not an especially nice walk.
The excuses rolling out here ⌠Next heâll be telling us thereâs no Supermacs at the ground.
In assessing Sundayâs Leinster SHC battle between Galway and Kilkenny, Niall Moran feels the Tribesmen have a little bit more going for them at the moment, but adds that neither county are at the level to bring home Liam MacCarthy later in the summer.
Henry Shefflinâs side edged it by the bare minimum after Conor Cooney nailed a last-gasp free, this coming seconds after Kilkennyâs John Donnelly struck for an equalising goal.
There was a tense handshake afterwards as Shefflin went to commiserate with Brian Cody, with the Kilkenny manager clearly unhappy with referee Colm Lyons after a dramatic contest.
âGalway have a little bit more in them,â was one of the takeaways Moran took from the Pearse Stadium encounter.
Speaking further on RTĂâs Game On, the former Limerick player said: Conor Whelan came on yesterday, he wasnât his full self but he ultimately was the difference. Kilkenny are Kilkenny; their ability to stay in a game.
âThey were outclassed for a major part of the game. When you look at the scoreboard there was only three points in it and the game nearly up - like the game against Cork last year (All-Ireland semi-final). They repeated the trick; the only difference was that the ref added on 30 seconds.â
While Moran is looking forward to the possibility of another Galway-Kilkenny clash in Leinster, he is ruling out the prospect of either of them getting their hands on the ultimate prize.
âAre they capable of winning an All-Ireland? I donât think so,â he said.
Pearse will be rightly handy for me. Iâm being community minded.
Nearly as bad as Limerick so. Another place with the pitch on the wrong side of the town.
Iâd say itâs a good bit further than the Limerick one even.
We need a monorail.
Itâs not the side of town as much as side of the river. You could easily add an hour for the last three miles, probably more. There are ways around it a bit, but youâve still the bottleneck of the bridge, and a good walk.
Another Limerick hack tog filling.
Only half an hour from Limerick city to be fair. If Eamon Ryan might get out of the way and let us finish the ring road itâd be all sorted
Ah stop. I parked in Bohermore on Sunday morning, had the breakfast with the women and let them off for the day. It took me about 25 mins to walk to Pearse Stadium.
Now look Iâd be familiar with the crow flies route down along Parkavera, across the cancel across Henry Street and onto Raleigh Row and onto Ardilaun Road but any fella with a decent gait would do it in 30 mins.
