<span style="font-family:‘Times New Roman’, serif;]<span style="font-size:medium;]This isn’t just about the GAA, it’s about identity.
It’s about why you always cheer for the underdog; it’s about haydogs and tipping
trailers; it’s about believing in something that’s worth believing in; it’s
about coming from the best little county in the whole feckin’ country; it’s
about community; it’s about standing on the hairy shoulders of our forefathers;
it’s about knowing your neighbours instead of fearing them; it’s about the craic
down the back of the bus; it’s about Lough Melvin and Lough
Allen;<span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);]<span style="font-family:‘Times New Roman’, serif;]<span style="font-size:medium;] <span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);]<span style="font-family:‘Times New Roman’, serif;]<span style="font-size:medium;]it’s about '27 and '94; it’s about cultured culchies;
it’s about Sheemore; it’s about always being the first person from Leitrim one
of your new friends has ever met; it’s about all the backs we broke in the bog;
it’s about 2,000 people singing inappropriate songs in Cartown after the
semi-final in 2000; it’s about being sentimental for square bales; it’s about
Ruined Liver; it’s about training in the Pheonix Park with Frank Darcy; it’s
about Love Leitrim; it’s about being part of the biggest clan in the Big Smoke;
it’s about New York in May; it’s about the Mart in Dowra; it’s about the
shortest coastline on the island; it’s about John McGahern and knowing what it
means to be blessed amongst women; it’s about trying to see the driver of every
car you see around the country with an LM number plate in case you know them;
it’s about the mighty Shannon; it’s about An Dobharchú; it’s about the first
salmon of the year; it’s about invisible St. Patrick’s Day Parades in
Keshcarrigan; it’s about the Hideout Bar on the 3rd Sunday of September; it’s
about Fenagh Abbey; it’s about knowing the worth of a good pair of wellies; it’s
about the Lurganboys on Tour; it’s about Charlie and his Rock ‘n’ Roll kids;
it’s about doing it for all the people that wish they were still back home in
Lovely Leitrim; and most importantly it’s about the Boys in Green and
Gold.’

how twee!

Mulligan is on Off The Ball after 8pm

I believe Barney was on RTÉ Radio earlier also.

How do I go about listening to these on the podcast thingy ?

You’ll get 4 of them here http://www.rte.ie/sport/player/#!/clip/809/]http://www.rte.ie/sport/player/#!/clip/809/

He didnt have much to say really momentum etc,huge game next week against limerick if we want to get promoted we need to win the first two games,i hear boxty is running a bus from drumshambo to killmallock next sunday

When you say bus, do you mean transport box?

Its called a link box in leitrim mate

A mighty couple of days in fairness… :pint:I may have logged in intermittetly (I think) via fuckers with fancy phones, during the course of the past 24 hrs. but truth to tell, between the bullshit and banter and hoors buying pints and chasers, I felt the need to savour the atmosphere was more important than posting scuttlebut from the home of the FBD champions…

A mighty day in the capital of Leitrim football (Prior’s in B’more) today as fellow Gaels from surrounding parishes, The Willies, Drumreilly, A/sheelin, Fenagh and a fair scatter of our new electoral friends from West Cavan, Bawnboy (Templeport) caroused with reckless abandon…Tremendous to see so many of the '94 lads about, all advising cool heads etc.,…

Gerry Flanagan did a re-run of the famous solo/non solo with a Bud bottle (full)…Great days…

:clap: :clap: :clap:

[quote name=“massey ferguson” Long may they continue boxty,how much are ye charging for the bus on sunday?

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank fellow forumites, The Runt and The Dunph, for their kind invitation to join them in the Treaty county over the weekend. Both have expressed an inclination to sample traditional boxty, as cooked by an expert and hence I have acceded to their kind invitation.

The “Ravenous” thread should be interesting come Monday…

The dunph would ate a right few cakes of boxty if they were put in front of him id say,what did you make of our performance yesterday?

[/quote]We're a bitéén light in the middle third. Our backs are solid as long as Wayne Mac and McGowan can provide the legs to keep behind the ball. Beck for all his gameness, isn't serious I/C standard, in fact neither is Clarke. I have reservations about Egan at 3...The Mayo lad Freeman (and he's no P.Joyce) floated off him fluff off a pissmire, a game lad but come The Hyde in July ...liability.. Up front: There's 10/12 for 6 slots. I'd go with an inside line of Croal, Beirne and Glancy(for one last time). Outside them I'd go with the enigmatic Barry Prior, Mulligan and Bruno McDonald.... <p>The FBD league, our progress to win it, in the manner that we’re playing, albeit not Kerry-esqe, has diminished the calls for the likes of Tomás Beirne (He of the one or two soaring catches) and his like.<br> No offence to Mossy but it’s a team game.</p> <p>Gary Reynolds and Enda Williams to come into the half-back line, McMorrow or Gallagher @ 3…</p> <p>Sorted…</p>

Id agree with most of that boxty, gallagher would be my choice for 3 if available id say they will stick with hickey for now with mulligan and bruno in the half forwards,i too would go with croal,beirne and glancy but id say we will see ray cox starting again on sunday against limerick,my team at the minute for NY would be Mcgrann,Maguire,Gallagher,Wynne,Brennan,Williams,Reynolds,Mckeown Mcgowan,Hickey,Mulligan,Mcdonald,Croal,Beirne,Glancy but a lot will change between now and may,theres good competion for places which is good to see

Limerick 0-3 Leitrim 0-1 after 12 mins.

We are aided by a strong breeze in first half
