I recall being in a Dublin pub and overheard a bunch of young lads talking. Hurling was the topic and they had Munster accents. They mentioned this class player from Leitrim who would walk into any team in the country and eventually pulled out the name Clement Cunniffe.
I think they may have been overstating Clementās quality in fairness but it was enough that they knew him.
Clement (son) is a phenomenal forward and has been a fixture for a decade on the county hurlers. Mind you heās made plenty of appearances with the clubs footballers but never fully committed to the big ball game.
Somewhere in the past the forums established judge of a stickman @ThePuke sang his praises whether theyād met in college or whatever.

I like the continuity of the U-20 set-up. Gives Hyland insight and a firm measure of control with regard to progress and development of a good bunch of young lads.
The U-17 structure is staggering really. I suppose Mulligan is eying up self-advancement but heās unlikely to gain much traction when harnessed to Benny the Cap and Jimmyās experience in this field is minimal at best.
Surely thereās more suitable candidates for the U-17 gig in the county than this trio of chumps.
Eslinās Joe Reynolds would be the ideal man to head up that role. Personable, knowledgeable, experienced and universally popular.

I would have thought so as well.Id love to see Manor Glancy over the 17s.He has huge experience from his time in Dublin.But I hear he canāt commit due to work (wether thatās true).Mulligan is a funny one,i doubt heāll be lining out for the seniors so he needs something to do and hes based in longford afaik.He might be a decent coach who knows,sure he has a few years of running the Leitrim seniors behind him alright

The Manor Glancy would be a terrific call actually. Hopefully when these appointed chumps get tired /run out of it the C/B will review the situation.
This 2020 C/B is likely to be headed up by popular Eslin native, retired referee, current Co. Councillor and all round man of the people, Enda Stenson.

Terrible pity he never got to play in Croke Park before the Derry match this year, him being such a legendary small county footballer.
Youād think he was the only decent fucker never to play in Croke Park. He also seems to be the go to guy for a quote from a āweakerā county perspective.
