Just on these teams - how has Adrian Croal been selected?
I can’t recall him doing anything of note for the county. An excellent club player granted.
Conor Beirne scored the winning goal in a Championship match - he’s not even in options.

If Beirne put in half the effort of Croal hed walk it.Croal was a fantastic corner forward.Very underrated I thought. He scored a couple of fantastic points in that game again Sligo.Very unselfish player.
Conor still did as much as Croal during his time with Leitrim. Croal may have been a hard worker but I can think of precious little that he ever did. He also missed kicked it right in front of goal against Roscommon that same year.
Adrian Charles a big surprise imho
A good club player but wasn’t a great county player.
Could a leitrim club ever have a good crack at connacht/All Ireland club?
St Mary’s from Carrick-on-Shannon ran Caltra to a draw, the year Caltra went on to win it. Caltra won the replay. Late 90’s, early 00’s.
That’s all I recall. I think that Manorhamilton came close back in the 80’s or 70’s but @anon67715551 or @Massey would know more about that. It was provincial.
In summary, we have done shit on the provincial and national club scene.
Aughawillian in the 90s were our best chance that I recall apart from the Carrick v Caltra game.Weve been holding our own in connacht as of late without ever really threatening a breakthrough.
Deputy Martin Kenny is some man to get out the vote… Not 1 but 2 Aughavas clubmen in this “selection”, both marginal calls. Aughavas garnered 1 title in the period.
No representation from the Willie’s, but then they tend to avoid the county set-up. Mulligan a lucky boy to get the 11 slot, he must have whipped up the Kinlough vote.
The usual collection of deserving and not who fill all these selections.
Fintan McBrien wasn’t a bad call (he is related to me) but I don’t think he was around long enough in the period under consideration. Neither was Adrian Charles.
Charles is the standout fella. How he hot in I don’t know
Lookit, it’s what it is. Wayne Mac unjustly treated for perceived indiscretions (you can include the other 3 lads in fairness). Slot him into the half-back line and move John Mac back to 3.
No not going to happen. Leitrim county side wouldnt win the Connaght Club champonship.
Why’s that?Clubs are way better prepared these days than in years gone by.
You have to concede that Corofin have been an obstacle to us this past half-decade or so.
They won’t last forever. Even Kilkenny /Kerry capitulated eventually. We’ll get there yet.
I’d have thought that the five in a row Manorhamilton team would give Connacht a rattle but it never happened.
Not wishing to be pedantic but we’re still waiting on a 5 in a row team. Manor and Gorvagh have done the 4 in a row but the magic 5 remains as elusive here as it has nationally.
We’re perceived as the weakest county in the province and that, combined with our natural inferiority complex, makes the Connacht club title a big ask.
We need, among other things, a Government Minister in the constituency to boost our self-esteem.
It was 4 @farmerinthecity unfortunately. To be fair we had Corofin and then Brigids the 1st 2 years.I forget who was year 3 bit we had Tourlestrand in year 4 and were well in control before collapsing in the 2nd half.
