He fairly put Maughan on his arse and trotted along to the line with his customary cheeky grin⌠The red card was forgotten about.

Not a word of a lie there. A 1st cousin of mine is married to his sister and outside of town or matches Iâd run in to him at weddings, wakes and funerals. Heâs aged a bit like us all but retains the impish qualities that endeared him to rural supporters. A good man to embellish a half-truth if you know what I mean. A good sort.

Got to the final again in 1997 too although Maurice Fitz proved too much on that occasion.

I watched this game for the first time last weekend. I had never seen the full game as i was under the scoreboard watching on the day.We should have won by at least 10 pts.Some of our forwards shooting was woeful Conlon being the main culprit (tbf he won some amount of ball)Mcglynns shooting was very poor. Our midfielders and backs cleaned up all day.It was some day out tbf.Im actually on TV after the match on the pitch slapping one of the players on the back with my big straw hat on.

We should have a full hand to pick from if and when we get goin again.Id love to see us just goin into a straight KO open draw All Ireland.The break in training will level the playing field a bit.Itâd be a bit like the pre season competitionâs.
