Ah lovely
Allen Gaels relegated.
We’ll it’s either that or extensive portering in Fox’s of Tooman having preserved senior status.
Gortletteragh got their 2nd score in the 33rd minute of the 2nd half. That said, Mohill conceded a goal to them, there must be problems with the double sweeper system not fully bedded in yet.
The 5/4 available to do the double 6 weeks ago looks like finding money outside Cusack’s.
They’ll languish there for a good while I’d imagine. Their underage has been atrocious for years and they seemed resigned to their fate from the outset.
Hidings like Mohill handed out today are no good to anybody. Fair enough for this year, but Mohill will have to be split into 2 seperate entities before next year’s championship. How you go about it is up to yourselves but this dominance is ruining the county. There, I was the 1st to say what we’re all thinking…
They’ve won nothing yet lad.
They’d bate the pick of what’s left a point a man. There’s no team left who’ll keep it kicked out to them.
I’m not offending any other club, I’m being pragmatic. They’re strong all over the field.
A strong team surely, you love to see them give connacht a rattle.
Didn’t think it would be that bad! Mood locally was one of relief to be staying up after losing the first two and anything after was to be a bonus. Not sure now after that shellacking!
In local parlance it’s been a terrific year, win the Intermediate championship (delayed admittedly) and retain senior status. It’s 100% a better situation than Allen Gaels. It’s a serious trouncing but a defeat was expected. The sun will come up again tomorrow and normal service will resume.
There’s always next year and a full 11 months to develop and improve. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
It’s terribly difficult for rural clubs to keep the interest, financing and the flag flying and Gortletteragh, no more than any other club, are to be admired.
Gortletragh beaten by 33 points and are to be admired ,ffs, it’s no wonder leitrim bogball.is so bad with that defeatist attitude
Yeah it must be especially hard for the rural clubs to keep going for the senior teams especially. Glenfarne would be the same, they’ve gone back badly but are still plugging along.
Look at it this way, they’ve had a chastening day but they’ll be at it again next Spring /Summer in the top tier. It’s not as if their yacht sank on some cruise round Lambay Island where ye’d be roaring for Government’l funding to replace it.
Your interest in this thread is appreciated nonetheless.
Gortlettragh goalie was a busy man tonight
The scoreboard man was replaced at half-time.
I know that, he’s a great supporter of the weaker countries.
He’s a fuckin diamond
@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy …Ah yes he is. It’s incredible the chaos he can create and the fear he can instil in some lads. He has driven some lads demented. I’d say he’s an intimidating fucker in the workplace all the same.
Leitrim Gaels beat Fenagh by 4
It’s a struggle alright , - Gortlettragh for all it’s size has no centre or no settlement of any note, just a scatter of individual houses with not many of them new. It abuts Longford on two sides and Drumlish, home of Fr Manning Gaels, is its de facto centre of focus for shops, PO, socialisation etc. Real bang of a half-parish off it.
Hard luck to your side today.
