Leitrim Gaa 2021

We weren’t at the races at all. Ryan’s form has deserted him and he’s a pale shadow of the player he was 2 years ago. The cruciate injury has affected him badly. We conceded a bad goal just before the break and turned 6 down. They got the opener after the break and we lost our composure and our discipline somewhat. Stupid fouls and poor decision making gets punished at this level.
We got into it a bit after the 2nd sos uisce but they kept us at arms length. We’ll have to rethink the project. Best of luck to them going forward (through gritted teeth)….

Ballinamore 4-10 Glencar Manor 0-08……

Thus ends the hopes of @Massey and myself. @thedancingbaby is the last man standing.
The 4 most populous enclaves left to contest the prestigious Fenagh Cup. Rural clubs are beat.
Transferring my allegiances to SoH from here. The quicker Jim Gavin takes the reins at county level the better……Sighs….

Semi Final Draw

Leitrim Gaels vs Mohill

St Mary’s vs BSOH

Not surprised with that result to be fair.Lots of milage on that team,we were very open at the back in the 2 games I was at against Kinlough and Gortlettragh and should have conceded more goals.McCrann and co could have had 5 and their and intermediate team so it’s no surprise that SOH got 4.It’ll be another 10 years before were challenging for a senior title again I’m afraid.

Who are the Leitrim sponsors for next year lads?JP Clarke’s time is up and I haven’t heard if they’re extending.Hard to attract a manager with no sponsor.

You’d feel the Clarkes will give it another shot, they’re heavily involved in philanthropic activities in NYC but after the good run in 2019 and Gortletteragh retaining status I’d imagine they’ll hang in for another spell. Decent people. Naturally there’s not a peep from the Cathaoirleach or his minions.
Easier to gauge a Papal conclave than them but you can bet the deciding issue will be set in stone…

Money.

Isn’t it always

Announcement regarding the new manager this weekend apparently.

The nation holds it’s breath… Part of it at least. The announcement will no doubt contain the terms “exhaustive” and " progressive" but will exclude forensic.
The pandemic and economic issues will be aired before Benny is unveiled (again).
:face_vomiting:

A twitter headline today goes “Mohill heifer goes viral”…

I fleetingly thought Katherine Lynch had cracked the Las Vegas scene.

It’s a raffle in aid of the GAA club…

That’s about the fifth time they’ve gone to the local well looking for money in the last few years.

No wonder they can stream roll teams when they have top class strength and conditioning facilities.

They also have a new gym on the way as part of their park refurbishment. Of course years ago that park was earmarked as being for the parish in total, including any sub parishes. When Eslin lads went in there to train back in the 70’s they weren’t let in by some Mohill folk, some of whom are now still involved in Mohill GAA club.

We lost a good club man last week who wasn’t shy about bringing up this story often when said Mohill people tried to give themselves a clap on their back for their recent success.

I should say that there are a lot of very sound Mohill supporting people, including the current players, and that the gobshites are limited towards a group of those in the upper echelons of administration in the club.

Who would have the best ground/facilities in the county.Obviously Mohill, what are Carrick like? There’s a lot of room out at Manors pitch in Boggan slated for development depending on €€€,I think they have the use of a gym in the Bee Park community centre.Kinlough have a nice set up pitch wise, there’s a new community centre there also but not sure what facilities they have.Drumkeerin have a new ground,Dromahair are still in the old pitch but that’s all that’s there.Youd expect anyone with a view to winning anything would have their own gym on site as most teams have lads well into S and C themselves. The days of running 20 laps and playing a match for training are long gone.

What about Ballinamore? They have an impressive stand anyway for a Leitrim club side.

Mohill had a gym in a closed former supermarket. They paid a nominal rent for it before deciding they wouldn’t pay anymore,

Eslin developed their pitch about 15 years ago. Very strange spectator viewing section - it’s basically in the car park. No gym that I know of.

Funnily enough St Osnatts have one of the best playing surfaces in the county in glencar which is used fucks all.

No white smoke on the manager yet?

Can’t be making any important announcements while the Ryder Cup singles is on.
We’re a county of golfing aficionados as you well know. We’ve to let the hare sit momentarily.
Intriguing to hear lads more accustomed to spreading slurry pontificating about 56” loft wedges….
