There’s some kind of a book published last year celebrating 150 years of life in the parish. It isn’t a parish at all actually, it’s a half-parish with Drumreilly but that never stopped them thumping their chests.
The book, as you can imagine deals with rural life and there’s plenty of reference to the GAA activities. Afaik there’s little if any references to Republican activities.

The County Board are like ferrets when it comes to smelling and chasing down money.

There’s always the option to sell cultural tours such as a week on the bog or a week at the hay. Wouldn’t you gladly drop a grand for a week to experience “the good old days” with bottles of tay, midges, cleags and ticks.

SoH merging with Kiltubrid to achieve success at underage is fucking laughable. We’re a parish of about 400 souls and are managing to keep the red and black flying under our own steam. Tremendous credit goes to all those who are putting their shoulders to the wheel under the guidance of an inspirational Chairperson. Those townie pricks would rot the hole off a badger.

No town club should be allowed amalgamate underage,my own included.Country teams should amalgamate alright if they need to.Would make a much more even championship.
