Leitrim Gaa 2025

You’d get that feeling

Would not be surprised if ā€œmutually agreed that Coach Poacher will step asideā€¦ā€¦ā€ statement will be released soon

Sound advice from the Big Dog in fairness

No!! Leave him on the mic!

The O’Hara situation isn’t terribly different from Poacher’s from my point of view. O’Hara has won back to back titles with Mohill and all but begged Chairman Enda for the county role by waffling on with Des Cahill on Radio 1 when it became available.
O’Hara was dismissed from the sideline in both the drawn and replayed county final and ended up bawling orders from the stand.
Chairman Enda and the executive decided against appointing Eamon fearing his combustible temperament (rightly so IMO) but before an appointment committee could be established this ƔmadƔn is catapulted in bringing a back up team from Down, Donegal and Kildare to name a few.

For fucks sake the whole thing was lunacy from the off……Poacher Out…

I wasnt aware of that carry on from O Hara. You certainly dont want a lunatic on the line for the county team either.

Imagine how bad the walkover would have been had Poacher not raised the standards though?

Barry Mc and Junior Cap are big losses for this evening although I see Junior named among the subs. Brian Keaney on the 40 will want to move the ball faster than his brother does. Forwards look potent enough it’s further back the problems could surface.

The frustrating part is that this saga arrives at a time when Leitrim have their strongest group of young players in decades. The likes of this kind of stunt could drag them down. Apparently Poacher drilled it into the Carlow players to be absolute cunts on the pitch and sledge wherever possible. That stick eventually wears off if you’re not starting from a low ebb. He used to love rehashing stories about using the keeper as an outfielder on kick-outs to reel in deficits in club games up north.

I thought Andy Moran’s work in Leitrim was slightly overstated tbh and didn’t think he should’ve be in the conversation for the Mayo job but the debacle since his departure has gone some way to enhance his reputation.

Make him look like Jürgen Klopp compared to the clown show that’s going on atm

They will be badly missed.

It’s ludicrous stuff. Technically they still should’ve been battling for 4 points to at least attempt to stave off relegation. It’ll add insult to injury if they play the Sligo game when they’re actually down having handed walkover in the decisive Fermanagh game. A Junior B (2nd team) team would get fined for the same craic and there would be murmurs about lack of commitment/how bad things are going. I feel for the players who love competing and have been deprived of a game. They might only have *11 of them in any season for Leitrim.

*Games that is, not players.

What will the County Board do now?

They need to show that cunt who is boss.

Didn’t McNulty get injured in Sigurdson?

Wish we could blame Poacher for it.

This is the Leitrim board you’re dealing with. The Cathaoirleach is an absolute gentleman who I don’t believe has a bad bone in his body. He succeeded Enda under severe duress as he’d already done 5 years as RĆŗnai and I’d say was sick of it. A successor was eventually (3/4 weeks after convention) appointed to the Runai position having beseeched the good lady to once again fill the vacancy……There’s no word of committees so I’m a little unsure as to eventually will give him bata agus bothair…. A shitshow all round….

The Rossies had the good sense to chase him after 1 season, Leitrim would be well served to do it faster than that. How he stays getting gigs is a great mystery, I’m not sure he has had success even at club level.
He had a whinge in the paper here one time when the Down county board wouldn’t entertain him that ā€˜a prophet is never recognised in his own land’ - I’m not sure what relevance that saying had to do with him, his issue is that for all their faults Down county board can spot a bollix from a mile away.

He done his hamstring taking a penalty in the Sigerson semi final shootout.Hes a massive loss to the 20s.

Has it been mentioned the indo podcast that he was on about coaching …they asked him at the start about the forfeit…he was completely unapologetic…said that suggestions that you could pick the phone up to club players to play was unworkable and an injury risk etc etc etc what a joke… beginning of the end for intercounty gaa if this can wash
