I dont know i was away for a piss when he went off,i think he had been booked
Doran was a selector under Davy Burke with us last year.
Two spoofers
That astute coach/manager Poacher went for Conor Quinnās better aerial ability to pair with Barry Mac at midfield and shuffled Keith Keegan to the half-forward line. To be fair to Keegan heās been terrific thus far - a serious engine. Possibly a bit of an off day for CMcG and heās only coming back into the swing of things.
That Keith is a very nice lad.
I know he was frustrated under Hyland and Moran not to get more game time. He seems to have taken to Poacher. Heās been a terrific clubman for Mohill. He very nearly declared for Eslin when younger as he is cousins with the Beirnes.
Is there a possibility that we are actually getting better as the league is progressing with lads coming back from injury etc ?An absolutely huge must win game against Antroim this weekend.Even though they havenāt been going well theyāll be hard bet but we beat them well in the Tailteann cup here under coach Moran a couple of years ago.
He has to be fair.Coach Poacher has a few decisions to make now for Sunday.Gaffey definitely has to keep his place,do we start McGloin. What about young Kelly in the corner and James Rooney? Is big Barry fully fit,Antrim wil target him from the off if he starts.Should we hold him back until hes needed?
Gaffey needs to be retained as does McGloin and Kelly. Honeyman didnāt pull up any trees when he came on Sunday so needs time from the bench. About Rooney Iām not so sure - he lacks pace go my mind. Come the summer Paul Moran should be available and heād be another forward option. Backs are as rare as dry days unfortunately.
McGloin Mark Plunkett and Diffley would have made a lovely half back line.As you say Rooney is big and strong but lacks that bit of pace.
Like Maurice Fitzgerald
Weāre seeing some amount of beautiful long range points thanks to the 40M arc.And to think some people didnt want to reward long kicking.Weāll get to see more and more of it over the spring/summer as the pitches dry and ground hardens.Beautiful.
Is there many more to come back into the mix before the end of the league ?
Hard to know whoās involved if there isnāt a full squad list released
I havenāt seen a full list of whos even involved in the squad this year. The team released on Saturday night didnāt even list the subs.Breffni used to have a podcast and used to have Coach Moran on giving updates on who was in or out or injured or not it was great.
Yes I enjoyed that podcast, great coverage of club football aswel but unfortunately has ended.
Wheres he gone to,he used to be at all the games.Adian Rooney as on it one time and proposed that we put a combined Leitrim Schools team together.Said weād be ip yo nothing underage untill we did that. Breffni started doing loi for a while then.Final Whistle or something.
He did a great job of doing reports on championship games up to about 2 years ago, seems he gave up on it then and focused on branching out to other areas and sports, a pity, was doing Godās work
One of the true greats - Patsy Prior has gone to his eternal reward. Patsy won 6 county finals with SOH before returning to his spiritual home amongst the Willies.
He proceeded to win 3 more titles at senior with them and was the guiding hand in their glory days of the 3 in a row senior titles when his playing days eventually came to an end.
A doughty battler (arenāt they all) and above all a gentleman.
What age was he
Mid - 80ās Iād guess. Subject to correction but there or thereabouts.
