Newstalk and RTE are like party political broadcasts these days.
Heās single handedly transformed conditions for workers in Ireland going by this interview.
Iām shocked and disappointed by it but his initiatives since moving into enterprise have probably been the most progressive and socialist initiatives seen in Ireland in a long time. Living wage, sick pay, something else Iāve forgotten etc. Really significant changes.

The word hero is used too often but Leo Varadkar is the hero this country doesnāt deserve but it needs right now.

Others have been championing a living wage for over a decade now and it was continually shouted down by Leo and co.

Leo Varadkar - see duplicitous.
Did it come from within the department? Itās always been seen as a weak department. In fairness, varadkar is the first minister in the department with real political clout, and heās suited to it too. I strongly dislike varadkar but there is a real possibility that he could make lasting and very positive changes with some of the initiatives he is talking about.
