Lesser forms of cricket thread

I’d imagine it must be. Jasprit Bumrah going through the Pakistani middle order like a dose of salts here.

That was a pitiful effort from Pakistan.

World Champions England lose to Afghanistan by 69 runs.

Good chance they’re gone now. Already well hammered by NZ.

They lost three the last time

They’ve still not played India or Aus or SA or Pakistan though

True. They don’t look great. Oz not great either

Pakistan haven’t looked too hectic so far either.

Assuming they lose to India, they only need to lose one more and they’re gone.

Ingerland gone home with their Tae in a mug.

India look like they might trounce New Zealand here. One of the things about this tournament has been the games in cities I’ve never heard of before. Ahmedabad last week. Dharamshalah this week. Northernmost city in India. Home of the Dalai Lama, magnificent views of the Himalayas earlier.

That cricket ground is one of the most beautiful grounds in world sport.

I was in Dharamshala/McLeod Ganj when I was in India about 20 years ago. A spectacular part of the world but it’s seriously rainy there nearly all the time.

Good finish there as SA crawl over the line against Pakistan

Just 19 posts on the Cricket World Cup so far, which has been in progress for 24 days. This is the 20th post.

It’s almost like the GAA organised the thing.

Aus NZ was an absolutely cracking match yesterday in what must be one of the most beautiful sporting arenas in the world.

A competition in which four of the main competing teams are Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England is scheduled to take place at the same time as another sport’s World Cup, in which four of the main competing teams are Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England.

Dafties.

As far as I can see cricket has almost completely capitulated to the whims of Indian television audiences.
