@Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy, @Rocko, @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy - could one or all of you summarise what’s happening with the SP(F)L and this vote and what the huns have been up to? Is it that they want to claim the prize money for finishing second but the season declared null and void?
This is what footballers call banter.
Context is Celtic TV showing the win at Ibrox from earlier in the season at the moment and the huns digging up their pitch the other day to try to force the SPFL to void the season.
I haven’t been paying attention to the voting and resolutions etc. But basically yes, the huns want their prize money now for finishing second but don’t want the season to be cut short. They’re just trying to damage the probable outcome really.
There was summat about Dundee changing their vote on the news there, and sevco chucking the toys out.
Is this down to the headbanger they’ve appointed as communications chief? Seems to be an Internet forum type.
Not really, as he replaced another headbanger. The predecessor Jim Traynor was an ex tabloid hack turned PR type that released statements every other day. My favourite was the time he used the word “concomitant”.
are they broke?
What in the name of God is going on since?
I’m completely lost about this vote and resolution.
Jim Traynor lost his shit and published an article on his blog about a post I made on The Huddleboard back in the day. I wonder if it’s still in circulation, turns out I had the last laugh as I mugged him off good and proper.
What did you say to tile him up?
I replied to a thread about Richard Dawkins criticising the Catholic church.
I said something along the lines that “I don’t care if he’s in a wheelchair, I’d still kick the fuck out of them” which I followed up with bite in white text and the bottom so as soon as someone quoted the post up it appeared.
Traynor then posted it up on his blog, screenshot attached with the bite bit and that the post had been quoted and said he was going to contact the police over it while going into a diatribe.
I actually remember that now you mention it.
There’s is so much I know fuck all about
So we have this resolution to end the seasons as they stand but leaving the top flight a little longer but with a decision that if it can’t be finished it will end on current average points.
And there are clubs like Forfar who say every single player is out of contract at 30th June and they can’t extend anything. So in the lower leagues it’s a bit like the LOI and the clubs can’t play into the summer.
So Dundee voted to reject the SPFL proposal. They then changed their minds and asked for their vote to be withdrawn.
But, I think I their original vote wasn’t received and it was submitted as an attachment instead of in the body of an email or something. So the SPFL first got their message asking for their no vote to be rescinded.
They have apparently now decided that they will vote yes in favour of the resolution. Or else they have actually voted yes, not sure.
So the huns and hearts aren’t happy at all. They think Dundee can’t change their mind. And they think someone deliberately misplaced the first vote. And something about deadlines.
But company law on this seems to be in favour of Dundee changing their minds. If you vote to accept a resolution you can’t revoke your vote. But a resolution either gets enough votes to pass or it is rejected so a no vote doesn’t really mean anything different to not yet voting and you can decide to vote to accept something even if you have already voted no once it is within 28 days.
Dundee have apparently been promised friendly matches against top flight opposition in exchange for supporting the proposal. They had very little chance of promotion anyway.
Will the Huns go broke?
Are they not already?
That’s somewhat clearer, thank you.
So we can expect another statement or two from the huns today?
So hearts and sevco are voting to resume the season as is as soon as possible is that it, presumably as they liked their positions and are absolutely fucked financially by this lockdown more than most in the SPL? And the rest of the league voted yes which was what stipulation? Settle season based on current positions maybe and start again next season? Meaning Celtic automatic champions?
Would I be right then in thinking that the Huns are so desperate for money that they are adamant they want to concede the title to Celtic?
No, they want the prize money based on current placings but the season declared null and void and they’ve dug up their pitch.
