We have good foundations in place, a good young side, scouting network and a youth system that finally seems to be producing. Scottish football is also beginning to produce some good young players again. I’d expect us to qualify for the CL most seasons now with the Champions qualifying section matching us up against teams who I fully believe we are stronger than. We were able to attract Victor Wanyama this summer who said no to the EPL and Birmingham Aston Villa so your point is poorly made. We no longer target overrated, overpriced and overpaid players. The Champions League money, which I fully expect next season, will be a massive aid for us. I wouldn’t expect a Birmingham Aston Villa fan to know much about that however.
It doesn’t make a difference about how much of an alright sort the local candidate is. The same argument is used the world over, local lad is an alright sort so I’m going to vote for him despite FF ruining the country, think that was farmer at the time. If you vote for a party you are endorsing their leadership. If you want to vote for a candidate with no ties vote for an independent
That’s just another three sentences that have nothing to do with eachother. Why after trying to disassociate Celtic and Irish nationalism for years do you now believe the two are so intertwined that people living in Scotland voting for Labour are somehow ironic?
I think it’s smashing that you choose to engage on this thread though even if you have nothing new to say. It’s great to get all the old catchphrases out.
No you are not KIB. In fact by voting for Labour in Glasgow chances are you could well be voting for somebody who opposed war in Iraq. Sarwar, McKechin, Davidson all opposed it anyway for instance.
Ah has someone spoiled your party. Boo hoo
“Where’s your billion pound, ya prick?”

Why would you fully expect to qualify for the CL? Performances in Europe from the SPL sides recently indicate nothing to suggest that the likes of Glasgow Celtic should fully expect to qualify even.
In any case, there appears to be little appetite for European football in Glasgow if attendances in this years Europa League are anything to go
by.
The loner is Australia must have thanked his lucky stars when he saw the huns news today and realised someone might pay attention to him online for a few minutes.
Because we have a better European pedigree, coefficient and more resources than the majority of the other teams in the Champions side of the draw, not to mention the fact we will be seeded. Your footballing knowledge is primitive to say the least, any man with an ounce of intelligence wouldn’t need to embarrass himself with these questions.
The Sion debacle was part of the wider early season malaise but Celtic’s performances in Europe were very good in the group itself. Particularly encouraging away from home too and our young squad have gone from strength to strength domestically clearly having gained confidence from taking 4 points from Rennes and matching then Serie A leaders Udinese over 2 games.
We will see
There are two ways of looking at whether Rangers F.C. ceasing to exist would be a good or bad thing (they won’t cease to exist obviously but let’s be hypothetical about it). From a purely societal point of view both in Scotland and in the North it would be a fantastic thing. I think the following paragraph sums it very well.

What they and their supporters represent is a throwback to a mindset which belongs in 1950’s monochrome, a world far removed from a multi-cultural, tolerant society. It is a club which rapidly expanded for the simple reason that it appealed to the basest instincts of a section of society which loathed Irish Catholic immigrants. Their sole raison d’etre was to put the uppity immigrants in their place, with the foot always firmly on his throat.
On the narrow criteria of whether them ceasing to exist would be a good thing for the Celtic Football Club, Celtic supporters would want to stop being delusional. Like it or not the clubs have been, for as long as anybody alive can remember, and will always be, locked in a symbiotic relationship. The SPL could not function as a league without both Celtic and Rangers. It’s finding it hard enough to function as it is. Like it or not the huns are probably in the four biggest clubs in Britain in terms of support when going well. No league can afford to lose a team liuke that. The days of the early 80s are gone. Aberdeen and Dundee United will never reach anything like those heights again. The Celtic-Rangers rivalry really is the only thing the SPL has going for it these days. If the huns ceased to exist the league would regress to a standard maybe slightly above the League of Ireland.
Don’t agree with that at all Sid. I believe all the teams could function at a level close enough to what it is now. The huns will be gone for no longer than a couple of years anyway. Fiorentina folded in 2002 and were back playing Serie A football in 2005. The SFL/SFA will see that their promotion is fast tracked, in the meantime we will thoroughly cement our place as the number one team in the Scottish league and continue to prosper as a club.
I’m talking about a hypothetical situation where there is no nuns/New huns at all, where they disappeared completely. That isn’t going to haooen.
I’m well aware of that, it’s just the indignity of the whole closure thing that will get them. Whatever way you look at it, the huns are screwed for the next 10 years or so, whether they fold or not.
Even if that did happen all the huns fans would just go and support Hearts or something.
