Liam Gallagher Appreciation Thread

“You are sometimes forced to sing in rugby circles.”

And what would he sing?

“My only one is Oasis’s Don’t Look Back In Anger.”

Asked why he choose that, Johnny says: “It’s just one of my favourite songs.”

-Johnny Sexton 2019.

Seems like he stood up for the final song, fuck it if you cant hop around to Supersonic in this life. Good on him.

Noel sang that and he’s turned into a Tory.

Did Noel not write 99.9% of Oasis songs??

Disappointing to see @anon61878697 standing up for the man here.

Noel could write them but he usually butchered them. Liam was always Oasis.

Bad form from the bouncers so if he was causing no harm

We inadvertently booked tickets for the balcony when Pixies reformed in 2004 and played Brixton Academy. We actually didn’t realise they were standing tickets until the day itself. When they walked on stage, the entire seated area stood up and stayed standing for the show . No problems with the security. You get a much better class of bouncer on the mainland

I was in the seats on Saturday and most people were standing for the entire gig. I’d doubt your man was kicked out for not sitting down

Nice of Liam to give Noel more royalties over the weekend.

Isnt it the venue that pays?

in fairness to liam he wrote this

Talking to the songbird yesterday
Flew me to a past not far away
She’s a little pirate in my mind
Singing songs of love to pass the time

Gonna write a song so she can see
Give her all the love she gives to me
Talk of better days that have yet to come
Never felt this love from anyone

She’s not anyone
She’s not anyone
She’s not anyone

A man can never dream these kind of things
Especially when she came and spread her wings
Whispered in my ear the things I’d like
Then she flew away into the night

Gonna write a song so she can see
Give her all the love she gives to me
Talk of better days that have yet to come
Never felt this love from anyone

She’s not anyone
She’s not anyone
She’s not anyone

Up there with While my Guitar Gently Weeps.

ill see your pilot pirate and raise you

Shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time
On a live wire right up off the street
You and I should meet
June bug skipping like a stone
With the headlights pointed at the dawn
We were sure we’d never see an end to it all

And I don’t even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don’t know just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below

Double cross the vacant and the bored
They’re not sure just what we have in the store
Morphine city slippin’ dues, down to see that

We don’t even care, as restless as we are
We feel the pull in the land of a thousand guilts
And poured cement, lamented and assured
To the lights and towns below
Faster than the speed of sound
Faster than we thought we’d go, beneath the sound of hope

Justine never knew the rules
Hung down with the freaks and the ghouls
No apologies ever need be made
I know you better than you fake it, to see

And I don’t even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don’t know just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below

The street heats the urgency of sound
As you can see there’s no one around
