Limerick GAA 2022 - Dual Kings (Part 1)

Was he injured this year or why didn’t he play football?

Dunno but he was playing with doon

Josh was very good for Doon this year . He was one of them that brought the fight to Na P in county final

Ryan’s a clone of Hayes/Hegarty. Always though he lacked pace but seeing him with Doon this isnt the case. He’d cause wreck.

Ah go handy ffs. He’s big and athletic and has a decent skill level but comparing him with the 2 of the best 5 hurlers in the country is a bit much

His skills level are probably on a par if not better than Hegos were at 21. Hego’s level has gone through the roof since.

If Ryan has Hegartys mentality he might have half a chance

Plus Kiely knows him from school

Therein lies the problem im not certain that lads here know his lineage so to speak

Sure he might just be happy at what he’s at as well. Inter county hurling isn’t for everybody.

Josh Ryan is arguably the best player in the country right now.

And there is absolutely no problem with that. It isnt for everyone

Huge commitment alright

The Jack McCaffrey interview Is the best by a sportsman I’ve heard in a long time. He kind of Spelt it out for people really.

I’d imagine for the mercurial type player inter county stuff is getting very boring.

Even a lot of fans don’t seem as pushed about it as before maybe that’s to do with it being behind closed doors as well.

For every fella that doesn’t want to do it. There’s a fella who’d love to be doing it and can’t.

If they told Shane Dowling they’d play him on one leg, he’d chance it

It’s a Crazy commitment and very little reward for most. It is a pity in a way.

The way it’s going with the round robin format very counties will compete at the top regularly Imo. The players are nearly professional at this stage.

They are in their bollocks nearly professional

The current climate is probably keeping a few more interested. No J1s and limited opportunity to socialise

True but even a fella like him wasn’t a starter. He is probably in the top two or three most skilful players in the limerick squad and he was only a sub. The game is moving away from fellas like him a little. The physique of the players in the Galway v limerick game was something else. They all looked like professional athletes.

Maybe it’ll swing back again the other way but at the moment it’s only going one way.

I think the physicality of the game is only going to go one way. There will always be one or two exceptions but let’s be honest, no matter what sport you look at, it’s all going the same way in terms of physicality
