Getting them out of the way early. Fergal Horgan has it in for us
Thatâs two of them Fergie has sent off now. I hope we donât get him for any Championship matches.
In fairness to Horgan, he wasnât left with a huge choice considering Hegarty gave his man a few hammers of the Hurley into the head
Who was sent off today?
In fairness to Horgan he wasnât left with much choice some fella kicked Lynches hurley away. He had to go
Yes todays was ridiculous but thatâs one bad sending off. If Hegarty didnât Red it would have been a travesty
Itâs annoying Mickey Harte an awful lot. Some kicks tbf, heâs a monster boot.
Who has the wind in the second half
Level
Louth up by 1
A fierce wind
The TFK limericks are desperate to be seen as a dual county.
It keeps the Westies occupied. Leave them be.
Sure tis âasy to be good at a sport that only 10 counties take seriously
Home from a desperately cold UL after a desperately disappointing result.
We had that like, game well & truly in our grasp and fucked it away. Louth scored the last 7 in a row but we had plenty of opportunities to break the flow including a really good goal chance. We were cruising for large periods of the second half after the goal which was really well-worked. Kickout to big Josh, mark, kickpass in behind for Hughie Bourke who did really well to finish while being manhandled by the defender.
Just some really bad turnovers towards the end when we needed to be more composed on the ball.
Josh was excellent tbf, such an asset under a high ball and his freetaking was exemplary. Two marks in the first half, two boomers from distance and then a left-footed free in the second half, as well as claiming a number of kickouts when he moved out.
Hughie got 1-2 off limited enough ball, Corbett hit 0-2 and was excellent throughout. Naughton also got 0-2 but it could have been more.
Louth had a couple of dangerous forwards, one at 14 and one at 11 who were able to kick the ball into and with the wind with a lot of accuracy. Louth were probably the better team against the wind in the first half but faded badly enough after our goal, before obviously finishing very strong but, even then, we should have got a couple more scores, had the opportunities to do so but wasted them.
I wasnât at any of the football games (and, in all honesty, dont plan on going to any) but I think itâs a bit of a reality check for Limerick. I think most Limerick fans would have taken staying up in Division 3. Two wins over two of the weakest teams in the division hasnât really changed that. probably should have won today but two from three so far is a decent return. Need to win the Wicklow game to ensure survival and anything after that would be a bonus
Yeah, but to ensure survival, today would have been one weâd have targeted from the outset. At home to a Louth side who only drew with Longford.
Like, Antrim hammered Fermanagh & beat Wicklow comfortably; we wouldnât have been expecting much going up there tbh.
Going to Aughrim now, needing a win, hardly ideal.
