Limerick GAA 2022 - Dual Kings (Part 1)

How much did that set them back :see_no_evil:

Nothing. They got it off the back of a truck

Iā€™d guess its just a rented a screen hooked up to a laptop

Taskbar at the bottom sure.

Iā€™m guessing Kerryā€™s minors arenā€™t as good as Corkā€™s; expecting a better performance tonight in every aspect of play, never mind the result.

Max on the scoresheet already.

Edit- his movement is causing serious problems, finding space all the time between the lines. 2 from play already and coming into play for puckouts too.

Looks like Kilmallock have use of the scoreboard that was in Ballyagran.

Classic Kilmallock

Wasted back there sure

Goal on the stroke of half-time for Fintan Fitzgerald: Limerick 1-12 Kerry 0-2 at the break.

Limerick playing an extra midfielder today, Ciaran is drifting out there and isnā€™t being picked up at all and heā€™s picked off two scores.

Most impressive for us have been the two wing-backs, Owen Meany (Bruff) & Diarmuid Lyons (NCW). Pierce Connery is a classy, classy forward as you would expect.

Fintan Fitzgerald from Mungret is lively too, getting through a lot of work.

Quality of ball into the Kerry forwards isnā€™t great so our full-back line havenā€™t really been tested at all. One side of the pitch is very waterlogged on the sideline so tough conditions there. Some of the Limerick lads need to make sure of their pick-ups, two hands on the hurley in conditions, getting turned over as a result. At least thereā€™s less slipping than last week.

Early goal in the second half, Darren Collopy pulls on a loose ball close to goal.

Followed up with a lovely point as Ciaran McMahon & Pierce Connery link up again.

The weather is so so so bad. Absolutely septic.

Goal number 3 for Limerick. Darren Collopy again, sub Tadhg Hourigan from Pallasgreen opened them up by going straight through the middle. Hourigan has looked decent since coming on.

Kerry keeper made a great save from Mark Field. Barry Adams from Ballybrown was on about three seconds and caught a ball cleanly inside, laid it off to Field but a great save from the keeper.

Rain horrific. 3-23 to 0-4 at the moment.

Goal number 4, this time for Tadhg Hourigan himself. The Pallasgreen man has looked lively.

And goal number 5, Mark Field bats home from close range after Ciaran McMahon dropped the ball in around the square; Field won the ruck and scored.

Limerick 5-24 Kerry 0-4.

Cork beat Kerry 3-25 to 0-11 so we were slightly more comprehensive. I did think we looked better, even against a much-weaker team. Balance of the team possibly better now and having the game under your belt already gives you an idea of where the weaknesses are.

Pierce Connery was class, he is the marquee player and he does make it look easy at times. Youā€™d really wonder how Max wasnā€™t starting last week, I know Iā€™m biased, but he was really good today, won some amount of dirty ball and set up loads of scores as well getting his own few. Wing-backs were excellent in the first half. Darren Collopy banged in two goals and his frees were very good. Thought he worked really hard too, for someone who isnā€™t the biggest in the world. I thought he was one of our best players against Cork too.

Waterford up next in the quarter-final, home quarter-final as they lost two games and we won one. They were hammered tonight by Clare but ran Tipp very close in the first game, Tipp beat Clare. Hopefully we get over that and have a good go off Tipp or whoever in a semi-final.

POD & Kirby back on the bench at least. A little short up front without CON, just need more from the other big names this time.

I like Scully, Hurley will do fine centre back and Quilty to midfield makes sense.

Couple of players probably lucky to hold their positions after the last day, because we werenā€™t very good.

Should be a good game tomorrow. Interesting that both teams named their best available team to them - Cork are down a few and Limerick down Oā€™Donovan, Lynch, Heharty and Keane
