Limerick GAA 2022 - Dual Kings (Part 1)

Itā€™s bizarre. I canā€™t understand it.

Get in there.

Munster champions, 2-in-a-row. Well done John Kiely and co.

Waterford are a serious team, theyā€™ve proved all year theyā€™re a quality outfit. When they took the lead in the second half we could have easily buckled but they showed some guts and character to grind it out for a finish.

Two weeks to a semi final and a huge amount to work on which is a nice way to go into it. We were very sloppy and subdued in parts, Iā€™d take a lot more from this Munster final than last years.

Better to have things to work on thatā€™s for sure!

Three possessions and scored a point. Not a bad contribution but hardly an undeniable case to start?

Played textbook Kinnerkball in the first half working it through the lines and accurate diagonal ball into the full forward line. Some brainless shooting in the second half until the intervention of the whiteboard and a dominant half back line saw us over the line. Plenty to improve on and crucially a two week break

It was a bog of a pitch, a disgrace.

They refused to collect the trophy?

Pitch in cork is fine. Thurles surface hasnā€™t been great for a good while now.

@Julio_Geordio, get working on the big long player ratings post.

Limerick need to seriously look at starting Flanagan for sure . T Morrissey v subdued today . Kilkenny are goin to be the team to beat this year & we will need to get most things right to do so .

Congratulations to Kiely and his back room team and all the panel members. A mighty effort to win two munster titles in a row.

As serious a bunch of men as have ever been involved with Limerick hurling and all a credit to themselves and their clubs.

Well done

Fuck me. A long way from that hazy July day in 2013

Limerick have as many senior trophies won in the last 18 months as the entire period 1986-2012 yet a failure to win an All Ireland this year would be regarded as underachievement. Leagues and Munsters have been devalued but itā€™s some journey from even 4 years ago when we tamely exited to Clare

Steady on. Thereā€™s a few teams could well beat us.

Absolutely but Iā€™m referring to the standards this bunch set themselves.
