We beat Oola 1-12 to 1-09. Scandalous wind, which was very hard to judge, even at your back.
We had the wind in the first half and were only a point up, didnât really play well at all. Upped it a lot in the second half and ground it out.
Darren OâConnell was very good carrying the ball, Ryan Kelly kicked two great scores into the wind at the end. CiarĂĄn Barry did a serious job on Mikey OâBrien. Jack Downey probably Oolaâs biggest threat.

We turned up to Askeaton tonight and saw none of Treacy, Hayes, Corbett or Sheehan togging out. Was tempted to turn away there and then!!

He was less influential tonight, he had Kevin Maher following him around this week.
Made one lung-bursting run to rip through their defence first half, kicked a great free from about 55m and won a couple of kickouts. But a lot quieter, but Claughaun had let him run riot, so was never going to be as dominant with a designated man marker.
