Limerick GAA 2023-2024.... 5 in a row is not here

It’s bordering on sweltering hot cc @balbec

Just back from Croker.

A good day out. The spirit in this team is unreal. They’ll just always keep going even when it’s going against them.

A fifth final in 6 years, phenomenal consistency. Keep following the process and hopefully won’t be far off in a fortnight.

Bollixed now and off to bed before reading back the match day thread in the morning.

I’m going to dive into it now, I love reading back the match thread. The usual suspects never fail. They actually make this journey all the sweeter

Thanks guys, you know who you are!

Great to see Peter Casey return to his 2021 form. It’s been a slow season for him but he’s coming to the boil at the right time.

Won some key frees and nearly always takes the right option on the ball.

You’d almost be concerned about the mental health of these misfortunes when Limerick go on to cement their place as the greatest team to ever play the game in 2 weeks time.

The GAA threads here will have to be muted

Probably be a good idea , just allow Limerick & Kilkenny fans post on all GAA threads after today .

Just hope Quaid is fit for the final, he looked in trouble when he went down in the first half.

I’d say he’ll start but it’s the kind of thing that could be a recurring issue.

Well done Limerick, that’s simply awesome team and coming into form at the right time. Our lads did well for 25 min but when the prospect of defeat was there Limerick just stepped it up like all great teams do.

Flanagan slotting in at wing-back for a couple of sequences of play was a good moment. Could be our next redeployment, he looked very comfortable back there :grinning:

That point from a free he assisted when he’d no hurley…

:ok_hand:

Did rte show the penalty foul on gillane in the 1st half?

(I had another drink and gave up on putting the game on at 1230 last night)

Nope.

From where I was, it looked blatant enough; but in the real-time coverage, it didn’t look too bad and they didn’t show any replays.

The commentary team didn’t seem to know why the Limerick crowd were fuming.

He was everywhere. Put in a great shift. Left a couple behind him though

We were on the 22 upper Hogan at that end. Looked a blatant foul from there.

I see Brosnan lauding that on Twitter.

In fairness that’s junior stuff, you’d expect any player on any team to do similar.

I was in the lower Cusack on the '65 at the Hill end. Not the absolute best vantage point for that incident, but looked like he was clearly pulled back twice before the ball arrived, not to mind when it did.

Galway didn’t do enough of that. It was clear Owens wasn’t getting the help required to blow for that stuff
