You couldnā€™t score enough past that cunt

Gillaneā€™s handpass effort there demonstrates why Limerick choose to throw the ball.

Big step up for the ład

Big win. Doesnā€™t matter a fuck really though

He did his cruciate and had a few more setbacks. Chance is gone now for him Iā€™d say

Did Old Christians beat St Pats? Massive upset if true.

Askeaton will be kicking themselves after losing that by virtue of the two soft goals they conceded. Mike Browne as ref probably suited Monagea that little bit more with Herlihy unerring from frees throughout.

A bit surprised at the distance between Monaleen and Ballybrown. Why was this played in Rathkeale. Surely Mungret better suited to host that?

Old Christians won 2-11 to 0-12.

Just starting to dry out from Claghaun now, horrible night for hurling.

Just back from Fitzgerald Park, Kilmallock.

Bon Secours Limerick SHC Group B Round 1 RESULT

Adare 4-11 Garryspillane 1-11.

The Willie Griffin show. The Kildimo man was irrepressible- 3-02 from play on a wicked night. He set the tone with the first score of the game, receiving a John Fitz delivery, burrowing through before blasting to the net.

With the conditions it wasnā€™t a night for the fancy stuff and certainly not short puck outs. Disaster struck for the Bouncers from one such short puck out, the unfortunate Ciaran Sheehan slipping and Mikey Mackey nipped in to fire home. 2-06 to 0-04 and the Bouncers facing an uphill battle.

Credit to them, they stayed game but were hit by a sucker punch when a point effort fell short and who else but Griffin flicked it home. Young Sheehan, who did well overall, received a second yellow late on before Griffin completed his hat trick.

9 points a bit flattering but the Landed Gentry were definitely the better side over the hour. In most clubs you hate the neighbours down the road, in Adare itā€™s the hurling side who despise the football element and vice versa.

The new electronic scoreboard in Kilmallock looks very well. Kudos to @balbec and co.

Does Muffins still switch hands taking frees?

Yes.

Itā€™s possibly iconic.

Thatā€™s a massive upset.

It really is.

I was mesmerised when I first saw him play. Hard to work out what exactly heā€™s doing.

Downes as a sweeper was an unusual move. :eyes:

Na Piarsaigh seemed to hit an absolute hape of wides in that. They were eager to keep giving Ronan Lynch a chance of hitting one over.

What exactly does that entail? Left hand at the top of the hurl when rising and then moved above the right by the time he strikes?

Something like that.

Its seven or eight years since Iā€™ve seen him play.

Downes played centre back a bit in the league.

Looked like it was the Well initiated the sweeper, not too much of a surprise I suppose given Peter Casey had 1-2 scored within seven or eight minutes.
