Limerick GAA 2023-2024.... 5 in a row is not here

Feenagh won’t be stopped @IshotJR

Easy win there against Ballyagran

Just back from Kevin Long Park, Feenagh.

Sam Cronolly plus friends 0-25 Knockaderry 1-17.

The Sam show. A masterclass. It was 0-03 to 0-02 when I got in but from there on he scored a staggering 13 points, six of them from play. He was unstoppable. Knockaderry were game and will leave with some regrets, they had chances but ultimately could not get a handle on the Bruree sharpshooter.

0-15 to 0-08 at the break and it seemed to be going to script when the westerners were thrown a lifeline straight after the restart. Rob Egan won the throw in and delivered long into the edge of the square where Mike Molloy flicked to the net. A pair of white flags at the other end steadied the shop but Knockaderry refused to wilt and chipped away at the lead valiantly.

At 0-18 to 1-11 Molloy burst through and seemed certain to bury it but netminder Fionn O’Brien made an astonishing save to deflect it away. A goal at that stage would have really put the cat amongst the pigeons but from the same passage of play who else but that man Cronolly went down the other end to point and effectively end it as a contest.

Mark Danaher was exceptional for Knockaderry but ultimately he lacked scoring support in the absence of Liam O’Sullivan. They hit the post with a gilt edged goal chance in the first half while O’Brien also made another smart stop near the end.

Three wins from three for one of the tournament favourites. But they’ll know there’s an awful lot more in them. If Cronolly is shackled against some of the better sides they’ll be in a pickle.

Croagh gaffer Martin Kiely was an interested observer ahead of the top of the table clash next week, assuming C/K account for Hospital tomorrow. That Bruree - Croagh match should be an absolute dinger, the winner will top the group and qualify directly for a semi final. The loser will face a potentially tricky quarter final against the third placed team in the other group.

A fine crowd on a glorious evening for hurling.

Sam Cronolly 0-13 (0-07 frees)
Frankie Barrington and Paddy Lynch 0-02 each
Matty Howard, Tommy Cronolly, Jimmy O’Dea, Conor Frawley and Brian Sexton (all 0-01)
Miscellaneous 0-03.

Mark Danaher 0-12 (0-08 frees, 0-01 sideline ball)
Mike Molloy 1-01
Tom Condon and Micheal O’Flynn 0-01 each.
Miscellaneous 0-02.

In the same group Kilmallock 2 overcame the Pallastinians by 4 to pick up their first points of the campaign and set up an intriguing battle to avoid the drop.

Bruree P3 Pts 6
Croagh P2 Pts 4
Knockaderry P3 Pts 2
Pallasgreen P3 Pts 2
Kilmallock P3 Pts 2
Hospital P2 Pts 0.

Never heard of that surname. Thought it was a typo at start

Where does Condon play now?

Centre back. Still fighting the good fight.

That tattered white helmet is iconic.

Ya great win especially against a team like ballyagran. We will walk the junior, can’t see anyone beating this team

It’s great now, easy win vs Christian’s next week and then a bit of football before lads sort out Hegarty & co.

Is this an F/K forum now :open_mouth::muscle::clap:

Must be, that management team is taking us toooo daaa mooooooooon

You would hope so for their sake but I don’t think there are any positives they can take from that performance which is obviously a bad situation to be in with another match on Wednesday.

Na Piarsaigh young lads hurled well. I’m happy with that.

They did, excellent additions this year. Dempsey was in great form on his return also.

Feenagh are going to win it every year and never do. We will see. Great club and no bidness being junior. If they went up they’d stay up. A lot more potential than some of the clubs that went up recently.

How many years is Seamus Hickey playing for C/K?

I know he’s based there but is it not unusual that he didn’t remain with M/B which is 30 mins away?

Fall out of some sorts?

Hickey is a known oddball and never committed to M/B when he was with Limerick. He attempted to make an effort when his time with limerick was over but he was playing with a team on a downward trajectory.

Instead of staying with M/B and fighting the fight he left to C/K.

It didn’t really surprise anybody from M/B.

He switched in 2020 didn’t he the Covid year?
