Limerick GAA 2023-2024.... 5 in a row is not here

Kilmallock resembled the mud flats at Shannon airport a week ago. It does not need any more games.

NCW didnt look hectic on TV

The square?

Breaking news from tonight’s County Board meeting in Woodlands….

The only topic on the agenda was underage grading:

Odds 41 votes, Even 35 votes.
Only 53% majority (60% needed), so Evens stays for next year as per last January’s decision.

Decoupling easily defeated. U18s free to play adult level in 2024.

80% voted for 20s to replace 21s.

Spike said there will be an optional 13s grade going forward. “14s is too late an age to start competitive hurling.”

Will be a great game I agree, as will the rest of the finals

So U12 is not competitive?

Surely Go Games based?

Not too many clubs can field an under 13 team without a whole host of under 12s.

Might get confusing for the young chaps.

Yip, u12 was non competitive before the switched to the odd changes.

What will get confusing?

I’d say he’s worried that kids will be confused about whether the games are competitive or not.

As if the u12s aren’t keeping score themselves already.

Over the bar, back of the net, no more about it.

I’ve a 9 year old nephew and you can be damn sure he can tell you whether they won or lost!

He seems to think that 12 year olds playing U13 will think they’re actually 13.

I always say after every training match that I think it was a draw when someone asks :grinning:,they don’t be long correcting me.

No it was quip on the ridiculousness of the situation.

Young lads don’t give a shit what games they play in as long as they’re playing.12 year olds will be delighted as they’ll probably have extra matches now with the added 13 grade.

We always had a simple system of just having under 12s until September or so and then playing under 13 in the autumn.

It worked extremely well.

There was an u13 comp pre the age switch too btw

Usually to decide the fiele for the following years under
14 comp.

It always worked well.

There used to be a great ground hurling competition to an under 11.
