Limerick GAA 2023-2024.... 5 in a row is not here

Iā€™d believe it if true. Sure one of the teams last night was Na Piarsaigh and despite their huge population Iā€™d be surprised if they cracked 150.

Football finals predictions?

NCW, Drom and NCW

Iā€™ll go for Adare to shade it. Havenā€™t seen NCW this year but they are down the lads and that must matter. Iā€™d say if both sides broke ten points total each it would be a good day.
One for the purists

NCW absolutely bossed Monaleen defensively rock solid.

Iā€™ll go NCW.
I think Adare have a week enough center spine in defence and a goal for NCW will win it.

That final chance we had of a goal is haunting me. Itā€™s going to be a long long winter.

Was at the C/K v GB match, a sporting match played in good conditions. I thought the lack of ball winners in C/K forward line told. They were relying on Hickey a lot to win ball. Congrats to GB they had great support.

Iā€™d say it was haunting @dodgy_keeper as well.

Such faffing around at the back instead of launching it clear

That goal chance was one of those ā€˜life stood stillā€™ moments.

@Aristotle - throw up the list of knowledgeable TFK folk who tipped up G/B to win the intermediate there please.

Well there was only one in the pre championship prediction comp. A home town choice

With one last blast of the whistle, referee Declan Oā€™Driscoll not only ended the 2023 county intermediate hurling final but almost two decades of hurt, pain, sadness, anguish, torment and despair.

Huge credit to both teams, a fantastic game. Proper championship fare. The Ballyagran surface is unreal, one of the best in the country.

Croagh led by 5 points before the Knockfierna men grabbed the last four points of the half to leave it at a minimum at the break.

The second half ebbed and flowed, like two boxers going at it. Raw, unyielding, authentic. Just an immense battle.

Adam Shanagher suffered a very bad injury at the start of the second half. A huge loss to Croagh. A proper leader. James Lanigan came on, his first appearance in a couple of months after a broken finger, and was excellent. Croagh will think what might have been if heā€™d been fit enough to play the full game.

There was a total of 10 mins injury time played. It was pure torture. Young Luke Flynn won it with two worldies in added time, the score with the dummy hand pass was the score of the game. Class. As the man says, he didnā€™t lick it off a stone - his mother won two camogie club All-Irelands.

G/B never do it the easy way though, and Croagh were handed a goal chance in the dying embers but it flew inches over. Heartbreak for Croagh. Threw the kitchen sink at it but it was not meant to be. Be tough to go again next year but they will. Would love to see them up. The days of players leaving them to play for Adare are over, theyā€™ve good numbers underage and are a club on the up. They were shattered at the end, but very magnanimous also.

Big step up for G/B next year. Garryspillane, Blackrock, Bruff, Effin, NCW, Na Piarsaigh 2, Glenroe - not many matches youā€™d look at there and think thatā€™s a guaranteed 2 points. But weā€™ll worry about that next year.

Anyway, Monday Club commencing shortly.
