The footballers gave us some great days as well.

What year was it eoghan Keating dropped those 45s a little short v Kerry?

There was a Saturday evening win in the Gaelic grounds win v cork too.

There was another win v cork too they’d a fella
With a double barrelled name playing centre forward.

Tiernan Ryan got a serious goal, for some reason I still remember it

He’s on the go a while now.

He had a lot of talent.

He was an animal underage. He was the size of a 16 year old at 12.

Those guys often struggle to kick on in my experience

Ger Barron son of Mick went on to have a stint with the famed Glasgow Celtic

‘04.

Those were the halycon days. We should have beaten Kerry both days really.

Lucey, Galvin, Lavin, Kelly, Johnny Mac, Quane, Mullane were all savage operators

Jason stokes too.

Pity we’d no Ian Ryan or Ger Collins back then.

That 09/10 team were class too, a lot of the aforementioned players coming to the latter end. Seanie Buckley was a great player too along with Tommy Stack. It’s no wondering Drom won a Munster with that team

Muris Gavin was a fine player too. His young lad is a hurler coming up.

Lost Cormac Joyce power as well very young.

Shane Gallagher and Pa ranahan were fine operators and mark riordan too.

Too many duel men I guess.

I’d agree with first 3…
Johnny McCarthy?
Lucey?

He’d be about that age but surely he went to school in Mungret?

Mick and the family moved to Garryowen in the 90s. Ger went to St Patricks and played soccer with Geraldines

After the first 2, you could argue for many. There was some serious lads on them teams.

Quane was a shadow of his former self by 04, Galvin was a collussus, in an era when you had the Declan Browne, Mattie Forde and Dessie Dolan getting plaudits as superstars in smaller counties Galvin was better than all of them

Muiris Gavin was a good freetaker and had a great game against n Cork when they had a big win (03?) but he wasn’t one of the top 5 players on that team

Ian Ryan? Blew hot and cold but a lot of our lads just blew cold
