Some snippets of interest from tonight’s County Board Delegates meeting at the Woodlands….

A €100 fine will be imposed on clubs who fail to send a starting team to PRO for use in match programmes. Just to qualify this, it will only be done as a last resort to clubs who fail to send a team for two matches or more.

Regrading can still take place between rounds 1 & 2 of championship/league, once a player has not been used in round 1.

U20s club championship will start in August to alleviate the effects of inclement weather in October/November.

For Minor ‘B’ hurling, if in the early rounds, a team is unable to field 15 players, the opposition will be obliged to partake in 13 a side. This allowance will not be carried forward into the knockout stages of the competition.

Senior/Premier/Intermediate finals will again take place on the same weekend in October this year.

12 teams are participating in Junior ‘C’ championship starting in July.

A rule change has been introduced relating to players removing their helmets while on the field of play - any player that does so, must leave the field and enter during the next break in play. How much this will be enforced is anyone’s guess!

Clubs will be sent an allocation of terrace tickets the last week of March for the Clare v Limerick game. There will be no online sales for this game. All other Munster Championship games will have online sales as per normal.
A new drainage system has been installed in the Gaelic Grounds along the length of the Mackey Stand. The pitch should be ready for the u20s munster hurling championship on the second week of April. The current grass growth has been severely hampered by the poor weather.

Limerick u20s hurlers recently defeated both Kilkenny and Dublin in challenge matches. The Minor hurlers drew with Dublin in UL last week.

Thanks for all that.

Just on the above one, to clarify, because I know people in our club have had different views.

You send in 15 players at the start of the season. For whatever reason, 2 of that team are injured/unavailable/whatever for the first round of Championship.

They can then be regraded after the first round of Championship?

So, if they came back a couple of months later, they’d still be able to tip away at junior?

That’s about the size of it.

Ya thats it, but you have to submit the intention to regrade thrm between round 1 & 2.
They are not automatically regraded.

Name the injured lads and the lads in Australia. Tried and tested

And don’t tell any of them.

I don’t have a definite answer to that, but I would assume you are correct in what you say.

That’s correct.

Fantastic to see Sean Finn back named on the bench along with Hannon starting at 6.

O’Neill’s conversion into a back is well underway. English is next.

Would ye consider Finn at full forward?

It might be the only place he gets on the team. We’re spoilt for riches.

Wayne Sherlock went from being the best corner back in the country to a benchwarmer following injury, anything is possible

Cork turned that hacker Corcoran into a full forward iirc

We live in hope.

Flanagan wing back Finn 14. Why not sure?
