There was a great moment on Sunday towards the end where Hego won a free and his ensuing celebration/geeing up of the crowd nearly rose the Open Stand from the ground up. At least it looked that way on tv. It was reminiscent of the Munster final in ‘19 where Mulcahy’s tackle on Paudie Maher in the corner had the whole section on their feet.

Gearoid is some man to get the Limerick faithful fired up.

Kyle will go down as the greatest of all time by the end of his career. There has never been a player like him— a true phenomenon. Given his form this year, there’s a fair possibility that he will surpass all others in the player of the year discussion. However, it’s possible that the recognition will elude him due to his conviction while given him additional motivation to force the hand of the PC brigade.

Yeah, I don’t see how the GAA could give him HOTY under the circumstances. It’s a shame given how well he’s hurling but it would be an awful message to send this year.

Pity, but as is always said here, it’s not about individual accolades for this group of hurlers so I doubt it’ll bother him unduly.

Watching back mike casey had a class game. One pass going astray aside he was razor sharp in everything he did. The man for o’donnell. If finn gets fully fit again its a hard call. Hannon approaching his best, great to see. Wod was way more involved and better than i thought on the day. Gillane had a poor game, not hugely involved, touch was bad on a couple of occasions and a few wides you’d expect him to score with his eyes shut. So he’ll probably ate Clare. Lynch a few nice moments, not as involved as you’d hope, getting there hopefully. Hegarty was on the edge of a sensational game, he’ll light up croke park again. Byrnes showed he will be fine, he’s some man. If Hayes keeps it up he’ll be undeniable for HOTY.
