Limerick in second gear. No Lynch, Casey still recovering. Kyle with an injection just before throw in. Gillane on one leg. ā¦ And still, it was never in doubt.
HGH?
Itās gonna be a long winterā¦
I imagine some fellas will beedthe bus to 5b when thelimericks win 4 in a row
I accept your surrender.
The tinfoil is circling
A great player, but if you had to choose between them itās Hayes.
Can you imagine Paudie running half the length of the field from wing back, leaving a heap of Limerick defenders in his wake before burying it to the back of the net at a crucial stage in a scorching Munster final?
No, didnāt think so.
Heād have caught the ball alright, before winning a free after throwing himself to the ground.
Itās not fair to compare Hannon to Paudie really. Paudie was never really a centre back, wing back is his position and he was a great wing back. Hannon is the best centre centre back of his era.
Iām curious, in what scenario are you having to choose between these two hurlers?
The Limerickās have chosen a bizarre battle here.
He might have langered a rocket over his shoulder either for Callanan to latch onto, but youāre right, he couldnāt do what Hayes can do. If you were to choose a composite team then Hayes and Paudie are competing for the same position and thereās only one choice.
Limerick, Limerick, Limerick
Thats what they get for playing games in August
Hayes has played 2 seasons in the backs and both of those with the old system so hasnāt played many games there at all really to judge
Thatās a fair point really.
The winter blitz
Galloping up the field in front of 2 men and a dog in Pairc Ui Chaoimh last year.
- Quaid
- Finn
- Ronan Maher
- Barrett
- PƔdraic Maher
- Declan Hannon or Ronan Maher. Edging it towards Hannon but hard to leave Maher out all the same.
- Diarmuid Byrnes
- Brendan Maher
- Cian Lynch
- Hegarty
- Kyle Hayes
- Noel McGrath
- Lar Corbett
- Seamus Callinan
- Aaron Gillane
Just threw that together there and Iāve probably forgotten a host of Hall of Famers. Iāll need to appoint a few selectors to help me decide between Bubbles and TM. Bonner Maher unlucky to miss the cut too.
Iād choose a prime Cummins ahead of Quaid. But Cummins prime was probably early to mid 00ās I suppose. 2003 when he made that trio of saves against Kilkenny was iconic.
Edit: Ronan Maher is too good to leave out. Weāll fit him in at full-back.
Cummins was dropped over his puck outs once wasnāt he.
Noel McGrath is the big one, fitting him in.
Bubbles is a fantastic player but Tom Morrisey is a monster and can take a score as well as most. Was off on that side of things this season but still had a solid year.
