Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

Spot on.

Libs went 1-1 when our lot were only playing the ball to one player

Means that Blackrock have to beat us tomorrow or they’re relegated.

If Mungret beat Blackrock the next day, they’ll go to 6. Their problem is their score difference after the Ballybrown game is quite poor. I’m not sure there is any way they can isolate us on 6 points along with them to beat us on the head-to-head, so they’ll probably have to rack up a fairly big score against Blackrock to have any chance of making it through.

Those results mean it’s in your own hands now. Two wins and you’ll be Senior A and possibly with a winnable quarter final v The Well.

Think that was the case straight after the Ballybrown game. At that point, if we won our two games, only 1 of Liberties & Ballybrown could also get to 8 and we have the head-to-head on both.

Which is obviously a great position to be in after fucking up the first day.

But it’s a very different test tomorrow than it was last weekend. You have to deal with coming down off the emotional high of last weekend. Preparing for a game where you are favourites and expected to win is very different to one where we were written-off by a lot and had pretty much nothing to lose. We’re still a relatively young team but we’ve had those pressures at Premier Intermediate level and been able to deal with them, so hopefully we can again.

Blackrock did beat us the last time we played in the 2019 Premier Intermediate final replay. An awful feeling after that, possibly the worst I’ve ever felt after a match. It really really hurt. And you don’t want to be carried away by emotion either but it’d be nice to show how we’ve improved as a team in the last three years.

We’ll try and deal with that first tomorrow, then move to Garryspillane. But they’re no pushover either; beat Mungret who beat us and will probably feel they should have beaten Ballybrown too. Will still be in contention aswell, a win against us and they’d have us on head-to-head even if we do win tomorrow.

In a great position, but a lot still to do.

Ahane have given a walkover

Two-tier junior hurling is necessary for next year.

Btw, who is in line to be the new co chair?

Seamus Mc should get it?

Hardly get the hurling votes

Who’s going against him?

Spike won’t allow that. Seamus Twomey Granagh is the name I’ve heard.

Good win for K/P today.Kyle with 10 (I think ) from play,Chalkie saved a penalty and scored a penalty.

Got the job done, happy with that. Probably need to be better next week but in some position. Win and we go up to Senior A.

Chawkie top goalscorer this season :joy: two penalties saved this season already too.

Damien Fitzhenry put me off goalies taking penaltied for ever after the two in 2001, sickening

A goal in the 7th minute of injury time for Doon sees them beat Patrickswell 2-19 to 1-21

The game against Doon next week is effectively a quarter final
