With another quarter final available to the losers.
It’s a free hit for Doon
Will the TUS Gaelic Grounds come into play for the knockout stages?
I don’t think so
Great stuff. Pity they didnt level it while they were at it.
A county final in Kilmallock would be great but I’m afraid i have to tell you I’m appalled at those red seats that have been foisted into Fitzgerald Park.
Looks a bit odd alright. Pitch surface doesn’t look great. Played the County final there in 1987. Ciaran Carey in goal.
They’re from the old Pairc Ui Frank I think
It’s great all these games are away from the soulless Gaelic grounds.
Preliminary quarter finals in Tipp in Holycross and Semple stadium tomorrow. Holycross will be a hotbed and the stadium will be a death bed.
What was the keeper at.
Great ball by Dean Coleman to pick him out. He laid off a load of scores, his movement and use of the ball is very good
He’s a class act isn’t he.
He’s just so clever, he has the head up all the time. He gave two beautiful stick passes inside for points in the first half.
He’s very clever too in tight, he’ll draw a man and pop a handpass to the other side.
They are. A mix of colours
FT
D/B 0-25
Blackrock 3-6
Just back from beautiful Bruff.
G/B 1-18 Pallasgreen 0-14.
Massive result for Team G/B, intermediate hurling status for 2023 secured and, by virtue of other results, have also qualified for a quarter final.
Aided by a strong breeze Pallasgreen roared into an early 5 point lead. Slowly the westerners found their feet and reeled them in, trailing by only a point at the break.
One way traffic in the second half as G/B fired over seven points in a row to seize control. Saw the game out comfortably enough to seal a third win on the trot.
The Pallastinians got on the wrong side of Johnny Murphy in the second half with predictable consequences. Three times in a row G/B were awarded difficult frees and three times in a row they were brought forward for dissent, much to the chagrin of the Pallas ‘keeper - “will ye shut your fucking mouths!”. All three frees were converted and enabled a cushion that would never be relinquished.
Croagh hammered Kilmallock 2 in the other lunchtime game (4-22 v 0-16)and so emerge as group winners with a game to spare, irrespective of the results next week. G/B all but guaranteed second place. Third place and second quarter final slot is too tight to call.
The relegation scrap in Group 2 is ferocious. After 4 games Kilmallock and Pallasgreen both have two points.
Tonight Knockaderry play Hospital at 6 in the final game of this round - a huge game. The winner will be safe and in with a squeak of a quarter final spot. The loser will face into a bear pit next Saturday to avoid finishing bottom and facing a 60 minute date with destiny against the bottom team in Group 1, most likely Caherline.
If there a winner in tonight’s game you’ll have three teams all on two points ahead of next weekend when the fixtures are the following.
Croagh v Knockaderry.
G/B v Kilmallock 2.
Pallasgreen v Hospital.
Na Piarsaigh & Croagh both advance directly to the semi finals as group winners. Potentially G/B v Bruree or Feohanagh quarter final, which would be a free shot for the men in green and black as they’d be total outsiders against either.
I’m off for pints.
Don’t even try to look at the Junior A permutations
Nick Grene Sportsground Maintenance Group 1 result.
Murroe-Boher 2-21 A Seamus Flanagan-less Feohanagh 1-07.
M/B notch their first win of the campaign in emphatic fashion.
I’d also like to congratulate Seamus and his wife on their wedding in recent days. Happiness and health to both, if they are reading TFK.
He’d a fine suit anyway, to befit such a stylish man. Certainly doing his bit to break the West Limerick mucksavage roaster stereotypes is Seamus
Was Johnny able to get around the field? He was on one leg and limping badly last night.
