His own club got rid of him. I think that tells you all you need to know
He’s outspoken and that irks a lot of people.
So is Frank Reidy. And he got 110 votes. It isn’t the fact he’s outspoken is the problem, it’s the small country sized ego and self love that irks people
Difference is, Emmet would be a lot more capable than Frank Reidy. He’s a barrister and a councillor. Frank’s mother died during the campaign, I think a lot of the votes he received were out of sympathy to him.
Oh we know he’s a barrister and a Councillor. He tends to mention it. Fairly often.
Did they do any championship draws?
No.
They presented the medals though. St Kieran’s delegate never turned up to collect theirs. Bad night for travelling in their defence.
The following motions were also passed/defeated/deferred:
Premier Junior for 2024 & Motion 5 was sent to CCC.
The motion says 2023? Mis-print?
They decided teams couldn’t be relegated in the “boardroom” which is fair enough.
So it’s the same 24 team (4 groups of 6) format for 2023?
Correct.
The Box Office Junior A championship will not go down without a fight
Some very sensible motions defeated there.
The no regrading rule is a terrible rule
Limerick are going to look for a derogation on that.
Can you ladybird motion 5 for me?
It’s a review of clubs amalgamating to stop them doing the bollox, and if they can’t be stopped doing the bollox then they should have to play premier, but put a bit more formally
Making them play premier is a bit silly
But I’d agree with them not being allowed in the lowest division.
Drom/Broadford withdraw Motion 4 in favour of Motion 5, which may have had a better chance of succeeding in the long run. A vote was taken on 5 (which passed) to pass it on the CCC to review.
The motion is that where 2 or more clubs are joined at any age they would play in the top grade.
I dunno how fair that is?
It’s not really to be honest. It’s the whole grading system that needs to be looked at if you ask me!
