Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

TBF it was just saying they should consider it.

I think they need to overhaul underage grading altogether.

Something like, say there are 12 teams. Split them into two leagues 1 & 2 by some sort of merit.

6 teams play, top 4 in 1 go premier, bottom 2 in 1 and top 2 in 2 go in in B, rest in C

Or something along those lines, I am not sure what the best way to do it is, but I don’t think grades should be fixed at the start of the competition basically.
Between fellas doing the cunt, and clubs genuinely not having a clue what kind of team they have/who will show up. Fixed divisions are very hard to get right

Well that certainly needs to happen. You have some clubs consistently playing and making finals of the bottom divisions.

Whilst it should be the ambition of clubs to play in the top grade, including amalgamations, it’s not always feasible. Some clubs have a history of acting the cunt by always entering grades lower than they’re capable of competing in. They know who they are, it has always been the same.

Bord na n-Óg look at results over the previous three years in attempt to grade teams fairly. They do make an effort to put amalgamations in as high a grade as possible but some of them are just too weak. The motion is well meaning, but it should be taken as a recommendation rather than a rule.

From who?
Did Limerick not bring it in themselves? I can’t understand the logic behind it. Especially when the games come thick and fast.

If a lad on the named 15 gets hurt and got getting his place back on senior squad he could miss a whole year of action.

No, that was passed at congress last year. So rather than putting a motion to congress looking to revert they will look for the derogation.

Ye cunts want it every which way.

The woman was nearly a 100. I’d hardly think that would sway many votes.

I wouldn’t say so either. Frank is a good man to canvass and talks to a particular group of people in the clubs.
On Emmett, of all the candidates that spoke last night both defeated and successful he was by a mile the best public speaker.

He’s an excellent public speaker to be fair to him.

Monagea delegate was quite strongly against this motion. His argument being that if Monagea/Strand/Tournafulla joined up as Feale Rangers, they would still only have around the same numbers as other local clubs like Rathkeale or Drom Broadford. I don’t agree with banning them from playing at the lowest grade. Let them find their natural level. Rural clubs like that find it hard to field teams so I can understand where they come from.

Seamus Mac will be better than people think. While not as capable an operator as John Cregan, he has a good rapport with most clubs and is a people person. And trust me, not everyone on the current list of Co Board officers are good with people.

Ah Mac will be fine but I wouldnt be so sure of his ability to deal with a crisis.

Monagea waltzed Feile B this years, crushing everyone and were still able to line out in Division 3 a month later.

Monagea will be very strong in a few years, over flow from NCW.

Except many end up playing Senior for NCW! About 4 of the current squad hail from Monagea by all accounts

Pretty sure that’s why Monagea had an unusual alliance with St Kierans a few years ago, as they didn’t want to join with ncw again. They joined for minors once (under the name St Brendans I think) but supposedly a few players went on to play with NCW off the back of it.

Ffs. And you’d think with NCW’s numbers coming through they wouldn’t need any more

They were playing Div 3 u17 football this year

He’ll know who the real boss is at least and won’t stir up the pot.

It’s the wildcard from Feohanagh that could throw the cat among the birdies
