There is no reason in the world it shouldnt work, he is very sound under the high ball and his puck outs would be brilliant. Great option on frees two plus a very good age still for a keeper.
Was always going to be hard for a lad that of that skill level to walk away when goalkeeping was a possibility. Looked in good nick on TV recently too.
Dow wont be outfield. He fits the mould of the keeper limerick needs behind nicky. He has the puckout lenght, the skill to hit them accurately, cool under high ball, can pick a pass when under pressure. Free hitting is the added bonus with the great man. Its a no brainer than kiely has called him back in. We saw how important the puck out strategy being executed is to limerick last week against cork
It is fairly certain he is back in the fold, he is giving up a great gig in RTE to make this work. I heard it will be known in the media later next week.
Last week, it looked like John Kiely was giving a few lads a run out who had won competitions on Live 95 FM to play for Limerick, so maybe The Dow is just another winner who is entitled now to get his chance.
It really illustrates the standard of hurling across the county at the moment when a few phone in winners run a highly motivated Cork team to a single point.
Limericks success has come from pulling hurlers out who arent just performing in the senior championship. Did a great job for NaP winning the intermediate championship last year in his first season between the sticks
