Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

Big dog

That was a great point tbf. Class from Byrnes, DOD did really well to get the shot away in a tight space. Probably showed a little what we were missing around there, as good as WOD & Hanley were; DOD’s wrists in a congested area are very good.

I would have thought he would be teaching as he went to Mary I, he is working in the AIB on the floor. He does seem a really nice lad also.

Who?

Byrnes works in AIB, can’t remember if he was in Mary I though.

I always thought he went to Mary I for the year.

The RTE GAA Podcast very critical of the clare simulation.

Who are the pundits?

He played Fitz for a number of years for LIT.

He is a very nice lad and has become a huge leader in the last eighteen months. The bank gif probably suits with training.

He has been excellent for a long time IMHO. Hard to think of too many quiet days he has had, I know a number of Limerick posters rave about Hannon and while he is a fine hurler, for me Byrnes has been far more prominent and dominant over the years for Limerick.

He was with dhl or one of those for a long time. Think pwell helped him a lot when he was young. Might have been with duggans maybe.

Byrnes was very harshly dropped in 2019.

For me Byrnes is the typical Limerick hurler. You could see him on the team forty years ago. First name on the team sheet for me.

Yeah, I get Hannon’s importance but I think if he was to get injured that he could be replaced without huge disruption. I think if Byrnes was to get injured he would be far harder to replace.

Wouldn’t like to lose Hannon yet though. Think he has been very good this year.

Barry Nash and Byrnes have been sensational over all 4 games. Both were under pressure only a couple of years back.

Myself and yourself have had it out before regarding Hannon and we’ll beg to differ but I agree with you that Byrnes is currently irreplaceable for us, has moved onto another level completely.

Incidentally, I thought Hannon really came into it in the last quarter yesterday when we really needed him to again. He always steps up when we’re under pressure, I think his importance to the team in so many different ways is vastly underrated but howsever
