He was with the Tipp Footballers last year (at least for a while) and that didnāt go well but that wouldnāt necessarily have been an S&C issue.
Itās awkward for this all conquering Limerick side at this stage of the squadās development. There is a finite number of makey uppy jobs, & there are young players wondering if theyāll get the tap on the shoulder. Theyāll be thinkingā¦how can I compete with my peers from Cork & Clare if Iāve to hold down a proper job? But how can the Limerick GGA glitterati force a GOAT out of his role to embed a new generation just because heās past his hurling peak & struggling to prove form & fitness ahead of championship 2 ā25? Probably Kielyās greatest test coming up now.

And to think Wooly was lauding their strength in depth last week. To be fair they had a poor league in 2022 and recovered from it so we canāt read too much into it just yet. Whereās Declan Hannon?
Is there anything to be said for Adrian OāBrien having absolutely no hurling background. Apparently a great S&C coach by all accounts but no hurling knowledge. Shane becoming a very good player has probably helped his career out funnily enough.

Biggest concern I saw from last night was the puckouts from Dowling. Takes too long to do them and by the time he is ready to strike Wexford were set up and the half forward lines run were no use to him.
Then would go short to the full back and the full back would just stand and strike as long as he could. Not what has gotten Limerick success through the years. Didnāt even try to bring a ball out of defence

Isnāt he a brother of Paudie OāBrien who hurled for Limerick? Iād assume Adrian is very much of a hurling background, no?
That doesnāt mean he is a good judge or coach of it either.
Heās brutal. Gillane is much better. Quaid will improve that team around 5 points.

And judging by this league will be impossible to replace him

Concerning scoreline for Limerick footballers so far? Or did Waterford have 1st half wind to stay in it?
Iām fairly sure he has won county titles as a hurling coach.
Maybe not the be-all and end-all if you have very talented players but Iād have said, as S&C coaches go, his hurling pedigree is way beyond most of them.

Dalo suggested they were doing far more running than with previous S and C coaches
Anyways major positive was DOD being back in the mix. We all know we will be fine when we can get these warriors on the field together at the same time!
