Limerick GAA 2026

Fogarty in this morning’s Examiner piece that O Brien has a hand injury that was keeping him out of the starting 15

Didnt look like he had a hand injury against Tipp or Carlow

@Julio_Geordio I think this is very relevant once again . Had it for the championship opener against Cork in the first round :joy: :joy:

Shane O Brien in for English?

Doubt it - Adam has been playing very well throughout season.

Injury I think

Declan Hannon starting at 6 apparently

Going to be a huge ask for the young cork half forward line to get change out of the Great Wall of Limerick.

I think the rain suits us more and takes booming puck out of things which cork have been holding back.

Limerick win. Peter Casey mom.

If there’s a strong wind there will be a half for Collins to get it over them?

I agree with this now.

The weather taking the big booming puckout out of the equation is a massive problem for Cork.

The bull is released

@Percy will be a happy man

10 mins in, absolutely nowhere to be see

The sweetest one yet

We couldn’t hit a free, finish a goal or take a sideline.

Traffic was horrendous, absolutely drowned wet coming out.

Glory days

We hit some wides.

48% from play and not much better from frees.

Kyle missed at least 1 that isn’t recorded there.

We should have delivered more to Aido when he went in, he was making good space.

I would still say 2019 was the sweetest because it proved (in my head at least) that this team wasn’t a flash in the pan without doubt but this one is up there.

I think it showed as much in the players and management reaction afterwards. They really wanted it.

The game itself, I thought Limerick were better overall but never seemed to be able to make the impact on the scoreboard. It was a shite game, there was a period that it was just a free taking contest.

If Owens gets the All Ireland it will be a joke. Not saying that with green tinted glasses.
There were frees that Limerick got that were simply not a free. He’s just not able to ref or handle a big game.

Casey at the end was unbelievable. Just stood up and showed for, and won, ball when needed massively. Hegarty became a huge option as the game went on.

Byrnes - this year some response from the last couple of years.

Gillane and SOB, for whatever reason, don’t work in the same line. I would stick with Gillane every time even when not firing.

There’s more that could be mentioned and more that were caught out at times but the most important player in that team imo is DOD. Picking up rucks, breaking up and linking play. Any issues in the last couple of years can be linked with him not being available. He’s unbelievable.

Owens is 49 so he’ll get the final before he retires next year.

Lads how is CON? And Gillane? We will need both fit

I said a few times I thought he was finally back near his best in the club championship last year but I had my doubts he had that level left in him for intercounty - would have been my pick for motm today.
