Playeew are there alright but not playing.
You are right about having a profile manager and getting a squad together to win division 4
You arenât going to get a Jim McGuinnes but the likes of Evans turned around a Wicklow team this year and has a decent track record. Someone like him is whatâs needed.
are the players really there though lads?
Just as I thought, you arenât even going to it you ape Iâm about 13 stone and 6 ft 2, there isnât a pick on me pal
Letâs not take the advice of a tinker just yet. But I do agree with those picks!!
They are there to put together a side capable of winning division 4 anyway. Maybe not much better than that, but a reasonable division 3 side is definitely there.
We are probably not far off the worst team in the country at the minute. We are definitely better than that
Billy lee has blasted the county board.
Evans is exactly who we donât want! There is far too many wannabe inter county Kerry men preaching around the Country at present.
New York would beat us at this stage, shocking.
I feel the pain of the genuine Limerick football supporter right now. Weâre in the same boat - inept management leading to apathy from what ought to be established players. Itâs not feasible to parachute in some Messiah to galvanise a united effort so we must face the future with stoic resolve and the hope that weâll unearth our very own Maurice Fitzgerald.
As ifâŚ
Is there a separate football board in Limerick?.
A bit much from him there. He was not bad but he was a fucking patsy for the county board and jumped to their every whim. Hence, he got the IT officers job. And in any case, if there was the slightest clash with thugby, the oval ball won every single time. So, with respect Liam, fuck off.
Iâm hearing bad things coming from the minor set-up. Is Joe really in command there and the team dances to his tune? Madness.
He has given them both barrels, to say the least!
Weâre not going to win an All-Ireland, but outside of a certain 5 or 6 counties, there really isnât too much between a big bunch then and if we had everyone potentially available, we could definitely beat a team like Clare who themselves have given the likes of Kerry a good game.
53 players unavailable for selection, thatâs an absolutely sick amount. Not all of them are good enough or are better than whatâs there; and there are some super players involved. And nobody wants to keep harping on about those not there, because you have to respect the efforts of the lads who are there, and fair play to them.
But for a county like Limerick, we need every player we can get. Is it hard to blame them? Thereâs a bit of a circular effect though; players donât want to play if they see weâre losing, but part of the reason weâre losing is because theyâre not there. Itâs a huge commitment obviously, these days and most lads are just happy to play away with the club, maybe a bit of soccer too.
Our strong football team from 2002-2011 was built around strong underage sides around the turn of the millenium. Weâve had some decent U-21 teams in recent seasons too, and a lot of those players are involved⌠but some of the star players from those teams are not available- Hegarty, OâDonoghue, Michael OâDonovan, Brian OâDonovan, Tommie Childs, Stevie Cahill (also Brian Fanning from todayâs team, although he was there in the League). So itâs tough to build around the youth when youâre missing fellas who should be mainstays.
What would Limerickâ Footballs strongest 20 players look like?? Someone throw it up there for a look
Hon Billy Lee.
Billy is a decent guy and Iâm glad he has called it the way it is.
