Limerick GAA - All-Ireland senior hurling champions 2018

So, the TFK roll call - who is heading up to Carlow tomorrow?

Going to try and be parked up by 2.30 and in a beer garden by 3 somewhere to watch Ing-er-lund. Probably a couple of hours of a drive if not more from Limerick city.

Most of the team pretty much picks itself at this stage. Itā€™s Richie, Mike Casey, WOD and Graeme Mul who are the lads who really need to impress to nail down a spot for the following week. I think the other 11 starters are pretty nailed on at this stage.

Tough on the lads who are dropped from the bench but that has always been JKā€™s way even going back to when he was over the 21ā€™s. Keeps lads on their toes anyway.

Iā€™ve a fuckin wedding, fair sick of them at this stage

Some dose alright.

The semi finals are on the same weekend (July 28th & 29th). Have a wedding the Saturday, would only be too happy to have a clash that day if it means we are still involved in it, though.

Its like getting a summons in the door. Not that Iā€™ve ever had one, occifer

where is the best place to watch the England game not too far from the pitch

Iā€™ll be there, kid.

About and hour & 40 minutes from Limerick. Portlaoise-Stradbally-Arles-Carlow. Youā€™ll come in at Netwatch Dr. Cullen Park side that way.

Carlow Town hurling club is right next door and they should be doing parking.

Staying in the Talbot , is that anywhere near

I dunno. I donā€™t know Carlow well, only where Dr. Cullen Park is.

Has the hurling club got a bar ???

Wonder will there be much traffic in Portlaoise with the football double header.

Mind you theyā€™re on at 5pm and 7pm so shouldnā€™t bother any of our away following who are on the road early.

No. Thereā€™s a function room there that they might set a bar up in if theyā€™re expecting a crowd.

Donā€™t go into Portlaoise town. Take the next exit for The Heath and take the first exit off that roundabout as if youā€™re heading back into Portlaoise from the Dublin side. About 600km down that road thereā€™s a left turn thatā€™ll bring you out onto the Stradbally road.

Any Carlow natives with a heads up where is good to go before and after the game , hoping to have a good day out

Down to Wille Clancy for the weekend, so Iā€™ll be missing it - unfortunately, as Carlow would be an intriguing venue.

Iā€™m a bit surprised at the strength of the team we are putting out here, itā€™s basically full strength aside from injuries and suspensions. This seems to be Kielyā€™s m.o., the team hasnā€™t changed a whole a pile in the last 4 months, other than tinkering here and there.

Weā€™ll beat Carlow, obviously, but I would be a bit worried that the fizz is kind of gone out of the things and weā€™ll stumble out on a whimper rather than launching a major assault from here.

Weā€™ve had a relatively good year but a quarter final exit would mean the year ends with a whimper.

Promotion was fantastic, getting out of Munster also was excellent but we need to kick on now. As Iā€™ve said previously we mightnā€™t even get out of Munster next year.

If itā€™s Kilkenny in the QF, we lost to them by three points last year. Really need to show some improvement and beat them in knock out championship. Should we do it a possible semi final against Cork would hold no fears for usā€¦

Would expect a fresh, clinical display tomorrow. Get through it unscathed and pile everything into the following weekā€¦

Itā€™s the hope that kills you.

Ye will win tomorrow and be odds on for Liam

There wasnā€™t room for anything else really, have to run with the team you plan to play next week for a few reasons. One, itā€™s too late for wholesale changes; two, you canā€™t try out players as youā€™ll learn nothing against Carlow anyway; and three if you start a different team than for next week you risk players being undercooked Iā€™d guess, the players that were poor the last day need to get their confidence up I think, especially Hayes and Hegarty. Surprised at Dowling losing out, clearly I was wrong on that. Donā€™t agree with it but if we win next week you canā€™t second guess.

Seriously what a joke of a game

Out of Munster and promoted from 1B. Given the previous three campaigns thats a serious year already in itself.

I give us every chance in the quarter final regardless of the opposition, once we navigate Carlow tomorrow night injury free.

Be no expectation from the media or the Limerick public. Ideal to have a good cut.

Carlow only 30 minutes from me but its my daughters first birthday tomorrow. Tried to convince the wife that the heavy weight clash of Limerick v Carlow would be more important. I will convince her yet! :persevere:
